I have no insider info either. I have heard rumblings for a couple of years, but it was ALL just rumor. Darcie has been very successful and I know she pushes her players HARD and she is quite ... ummmm ... tough on them. If you've ever seen a practice (or heard one), you know what I mean. I had heard some complaints about being too rough, but they were from a former player who was not a coach's favorite, so I just wrote it off as rumor and sour grapes. For all I know, that's exactly what it is. If they really have been canned, then something had to happen that was quite severe. I haven't even heard that they have been, in fact, let go, but I was told Saturday that there was a "big mess right now that has to be taken care of". I asked a friend with the U when we would know more about our next AD or candidates and that was the answer he gave, though he didn't reference which sport, or even which department, it referred to. I would think we would know something in the next 24-48 hours if its true.

FWIW, I saw some members of the WBB team Saturday at The Rock (sports bar), and no one seemed upset about anything, except for the football score.

This should tell you a ton.

I know why Randy Edwards didn't return calls today ... there was a huge donor "do" that would have taken his full attention. He was with the Legacy Society today as was the Chancellor.

This article provided no information on the original topic (Darcie's firing) other than stating that she was fired. ACT used this event only to bash App, how much more unprofessional can a newspaper be? Nothing but trash!!

If Pat Summitt or Bob Knight started coach nowadays, no way they would last. Darcie is cut from the same cloth. If you listened to her postgame shows, after losses she would throw her players under the bus big time.

No players left the program this off-season. There were two seniors who graduated but that's it. Social media has been quiet. Not even any cryptic comments. Officials are keeping quiet both on and off the record.

I'm not an attorney by profession, but sometimes I have to play that role here on the MMB.

The lack of official comment from Appalachian just SHOUTS that many of the rumors being repeated and embellished are simply untrue. Everybody should be standing down. It's clear that most here have no clue what, if anything, has happened. Those who do think they know are holding back because they weren't there and they only have hearsay info. And before someone brings it up, I can say that no criminal charges have been filed in Watauga County District or Superior Court against any member of the WBB staff as of 8:45 PM this evening.

Think about it. There's a reason that Coach Vincent's info is still on appstatesports.com. She's still our head coach--at least for now.

If there's been a flare-up of something job or career sensitive that could be interpreted as a contract violation, it's going to ultimately be decided by lawyers, negotiations and possibly civil courts; not by an assoc. AD for facilities.
