I'll throw a name in there, I wouldn't want him to have to deal with the mess, but he would be good for at least an interim coach.

Re: Darcie & crew gone
The university has yet to clear up the abundant misinformation in the air regarding the status of assistant coaches Heather Kearney and Katherine Katz. If they both remain under contract and plan to honor those contracts, then the mystery will solve itself. Kearney will be the interim head coach. If we can believe appstatesports.com, both of them are still in the program.luvyosef wrote:How about Kelly Harper from Missouri State? She did good things in Cullowhee from 2005-2009. And the new assistant, Jackson, played for her.
If Kearney and Katz are gone, then we need to be hiring the best, most experienced and most successful "temporary" head coach we can lure for the next six-seven months. Make the pay lucrative enough to attract someone who can pull the players together and install a system that fits their BB skills. Time is of the essence; and it's passing at warp speed.
I just don't think it's in Appalachian's best interest for an interim AD to be hiring a "permanent" head coach--particularly at this time of year. The better candidates for the permanent position are already under contract and under the pressure of the upcoming season in their current gigs. They aren't about to commit career suicide by leaving their current employers high and dry to take another position in late September or early October.

It is not uncommon for them to leave up assist coaches until the new coach is named.asu66 wrote:The university has yet to clear up the abundant misinformation in the air regarding the status of assistant coaches Heather Kearney and Katherine Katz. Well, are they still working or not? That's a fair question to ask. Are Kearney and Katz still employed as assistant coaches and serving as representatives of our athletic department and university?appgrouch wrote:It is not uncommon for them to leave up assist coaches until the new coach is named.asu66 wrote:The university has yet to clear up the abundant misinformation in the air regarding the status of assistant coaches Heather Kearney and Katherine Katz. Your guess is as good as mine. The univ. directory still has Darcie as head coach.asu66 wrote:Well, are they still working or not? That's a fair question to ask. Re: Darcie & crew gone
66' check your PM.
Oh and BTW, for anyone who wants to, check out the twitter accounts for Vincent, Kearney, and Katz. All reference to App has been removed from their profile information. Just for those who hadn't looked before they used to have their titles in their profiles. Just food for thought.
Honestly wish I had never posted anything. I will not make that mistake again.

This would be an obvious choice:
Mary Ciuk -assistant at Davidson
http://www.davidsonwildcats.com/coaches ... ath=wbball
Maybe Coach Fox could help lure her away.
