Here’s a fun story about the last trip we took to the dance. I was a sophomore, living in Kingswood “condominiums”. I clearly remember taking our Christmas tree out to the woods behind/above the apartments at halftime of the conference championship game (I was going through a manic cleaning session that day).

If you'd waited to take the Christmas tree out after the game, chances are it would've ended up in the parking lot as part of a celebration bonfire instead of out back in the woods near the "condominiums."

I was in Roanoke for the first one but this one is a storybook tale. What an incredible and improbable run!
