Re: Eastern Carolina U
We don't win that game last year (actually didn't), this team looks so much better, and I mean TEAM. So Excited about the direction! How was the crowd, hard to tell on TV?

^Thats the next step. Win. Then get crowds to come. Students would be the main target at first.

Forest being in foul trouble broke our momentum in the first half. He’s the leader, the key , for the present. Great effort and I mean fight. You can see an obvious difference. We got back in a rhythm late and closed it out. Defense has made substantial strides. All comes down to coaching.

Next up is a winnable round robin. UNCG will be tough, but it’s a great opportunity to make a statement before a potentially big home game against UNC-Concord.

Re: Eastern Carolina U
Some twitter posts make it look a little better than it looked on TV. Box score says about 1,800. Ethan asked the players about the crowd and they said it's the best crowd they've ever played in front of at home....which, given that Holmes is set up for around 8,300, that's still only 20% full.

Has that place ever been packed for a game besides the arena opener against Carolina?APPdiesel wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2019 11:56 pmSome twitter posts make it look a little better than it looked on TV. Re: Eastern Carolina U
Just glad to get this win. We definitely could not have beaten these guys last year. Hopefully we can surpass 15 wins this year.
Hopefully we can double our attendance average by the end of next year. Future seems bright!

The ‘04/‘05 season had a couple games that were close to full. The Western game at the end of the season stands out in my memory as being a sellout.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2019 12:44 amHas that place ever been packed for a game besides the arena opener against Carolina?APPdiesel wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2019 11:56 pmSome twitter posts make it look a little better than it looked on TV. Re: Eastern Carolina U
Steph Curry’s junior year was sold out. Our 24-8 year in 07 was a good year for attendance. Seemed like DJ Thompson’s senior night game had around 5k. Believe it was against UNCG. But overall, not so much.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2019 12:44 amHas that place ever been packed for a game besides the arena opener against Carolina?APPdiesel wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2019 11:56 pmSome twitter posts make it look a little better than it looked on TV. Re: Eastern Carolina U
2006 to 2010 had some very good crowds. Marketing did a much better job promoting during those years as that department has people who bled black and gold, now more of a stop along the way. A few more black and gold lifers and alum couldn't hurt IMO, especially those who understand the university, community, and could engage more young alums. Coach Kerns and co. are doing things the right way, and making themselves present around campus and community which must continue to happen.

Do we play Western Carolina in anything? I've got a bingo card that needs filling.
If you're not enthusiastic about our programs right now, this whole fandom thing might not be for you.

Re: Eastern Carolina U
Filling up the stadium is always going to depend on student attendance. There is just not a large enough local alumni base in the Boone area to support season ticket sales for basketball. Too many games to make the trip up the mountain that often to make it worth it. Football season tickets only require a 6 game commitment and 4-5 are on Saturdays.
In regards to the game, I found them to be much more enjoyable to watch than the past 9 years. I appreciated that they had some sort of game plan on both ends of the court and were not just dribbling down and chucking up three's without a pass.

Fair enough! I was just sticking to the cardinal directions, but we can throw in Coastal. Charlotte, too! And a shot at Greensboro and Charlotte in roundball in the next week or so. Let's go!WataugaMan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2019 9:05 amYou forgot the Postal Carolina Beach Chickensappchicago wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2019 8:55 amEast Carolina: Check
