Completely lost our ability to shoot in the last bit. Close game, something to learn from for sure. Hard to beat a team when you shoot 31% from the field.

Awful final 10:00. Assuming the team played solid D to at least keep it close. Got it back to within 3 but just ran out of time and had to start fouling.

Admittedly I didn’t watch the game but browsing the box score I did notice Forrest shot 22 times. I really hope he doesn’t become shabazz 2.0. He’s a great player and he’s definitely not the reason we lost, but I always am wary when the offense runs through one player at the collegiate level short of him being a Zion Williamson type player. I am absolutely excited about the new team but I did notice the two games they’ve lost Forrest has exceeded 20 shots and both wins many less

Even though we took the L, this isn’t the worst thing to happen. I’d much rather lose ugly games with solid defense than lose ugly shootouts with terrible D.

Monty State took a top 20 team down to the wire and we were in a position to win had we made a few extra shots. We held their top scorer to 16 points after he dropped 34 against the above mentioned team.

We are fine. This brand of basketball is what we need. UVA just won a natty and rarely scores above 70 points. Have patience.

Oh, I almost forgot, Epstein didn’t kill himself.

Agreed. Obviously couldn’t watch the game, but if we shot that bad and only lost by 3, I’m not too worried.

I was at the game and I felt like we played decent defense but everybody, and I mean everybody, was cold shooting from the outside so Montana St was able to clog things up inside. Montana St also hit a couple of 3 pointers late and then they hit all of their free throws as we were fouling at the end. Could have very easily won the game but came up just a little short.
It seemed to me that we were a bit casual when bringing the ball on offense, the Montana St point guard, a kid from Norway I believe, was way more intense and energized than our guys seemed on offense.
