Ga State has COVID issues and will not play this weekend. I believe that is the second time this season they have been sidelined. It is costing them a Friday night ESPN game.

Infections on their team or with their opponents? Either way, feel sorry for all those kids. I had covid in July, it whipped my ass. 6 months later at the gym I still feel like my cardio capacity is diminished.

Oof several cases within Georgia St. I hope the players recovery quickly. Tough break for them. This may preclude next weeks games against App as well. I'm not sure how they figure out a way to makeup five games much less even a couple of these.

I understand that make up games are on Wednesdays and only one is to be made up if a whole weekend is lost.

Half a million didn’t. I’m lucky I pulled through. When your fever hits 103 things start getting really blurry.

Re: MBB @ Troy (1/29 7pm & 1/30 5pm)
Thanks that's really helpful. Means that the wins against Georgia St are even more impactful now since they'll be hard pressed to makeup ground in the conference winning percentage with the reduced games.
Also means the games against Troy are huge in the event that our games against Georgia St next weekend are postponed as well which seems entirely possible.

At the end of the regular season would you accept an overall 18-9 and conference 12-6 record? That would mean 6-4 over the final 10 games with 7 of those on the road.

Re: MBB @ Troy (1/29 7pm & 1/30 5pm)
I probably would since it almost guarantees the team #2 or better and a bye (a few random scenarios aside) and momentum wise it's probably where the team needs to be playing to do some damage in the tournament.
7-3 or better and I'd be ecstatic, but that's a lot of road wins.

Agree. I'd take it in a hearbeat! Frankly, I'm not sure we get there but Kerns would have to be coach of the year if he can guide this team to that kind of record facing the road ahead. This weekend will give us an idea of how good we can be. The Troy may not be the cake walk some think. In their five game losing streak, their average margin of defeat is something like six points. If we play with the intensity we did in the GA State series, I like our chances but I expect a dog fight.agentpaul001 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 2:32 pmI probably would since it almost guarantees the team #2 or better and a bye (a few random scenarios aside) and momentum wise it's probably where the team needs to be playing to do some damage in the tournament.

If going 6-4 down the stretch means picking up a couple of wins vs Coastal and Georgia State (assuming that road series still happens) then I'd be really happy with that scenario. Getting a couple of those head-to-head wins vs the better teams in our division would be great.

Texas State lost to UL today. An App win gives us the best record in the Belt.

Bad half but Troy played about as good a half as they could and still just a seven point lead. The poor defensive rebounding has been tough.
James Lewis Jr has looked good inside, love to see them work it in to him and see if we can pick up another early foul on a Troy big.
