It makes sense to leave if your intention is to enter the portal. No need to risk injury that affects your chances of going somewhere else.DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 8:22 amApparently per press conference Eads has left the team, 2 players in back to back weeks have now said bye bye.
interesting timing to say the least, hitting the portal usually doesn't happen until mid March.

He should have been playing this year. Along with Eads. We are now down to 8 scholarship players….
Can’t believe Kerns botched that situation.

What was the situation with Eads? I asked this a week ago and was told he was injured, which was obviously untrue.

Once again. I sure wish we had media that didn’t have to care about access.

Doubtful that the information regarding Eads and Teasett would be anymore available to media regardless of concerns to access.

It was not untrue. And remains true. He is injured and that's the reason he wasn't playing. He has now left the team as well.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 11:24 amWhat was the situation with Eads? I asked this a week ago and was told he was injured, which was obviously untrue.

Re: Teasett Status
Lol, knew that was coming. We’ve beaten this dead horse too many times and the issues still remain. We all watch every game, so yes, we know who shouldn’t be playing. It isn’t hard to see it. Let’s continue to run kids out who can’t shoot or defend and keep on this same track instead of giving a “potential star” (as said by an ex coach that recruited him) and an experienced vet PT. Eads might be injured but he did play some this year. Like I’ve said all year and even with football, you play the potential stars while you have them on campus to lessen their chances of leaving.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 1:03 pmSo you see every practice to know he should be playing?311neers wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 11:18 amHe should have been playing this year. And we will keep losing and not building consistency for a future. We will have minimum 7 new faces again next year. Kerns has done a good job in the portal but he’s got to get some consistency with developing and retaining HS recruits.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 1:11 pmAnd yet those guys are playing over said guys you think should be playing.. so, obviously they are better than your preferred players.311neers wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 1:08 pmWe all watch every game, so yes, we know who shouldn’t be playing. Re: Teasett Status
So you think Kerns is purposely trying to lose by playing players that shouldn't be playing? That's pretty wild. An investigation should be started into this situation. He should probably be fired if that's the case.311neers wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 1:08 pmLol, knew that was coming. We’ve beaten this dead horse too many times and the issues still remain. Re: Teasett Status
Don't disagree. But that's way different than playing a player that is not ready to play at this level simply because a fan thinks he should be playing based on a high school highlight tape.311neers wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 1:17 pmAnd we will keep losing and not building consistency for a future. I've been to 2 practices fairly recently. Zocko couldn't shoot the ball into the ocean when I was there and he turned it over more than he didn't.

The crowd that “knows” who should be playing and what should be done because they “watch” games is the least knowledgeable fans in the world. Not because they don’t understand the game, but because they aren’t smart enough to ask what they don’t know about the situation that might be the reason for the results.

Re: Teasett Status
The back end of the Zocko situation is similar to the Kendall Lewis situation. For those familiar with why Lewis entered the portal. Only difference is Lewis was getting play time.
Teasett is also in a similar sinking boat but he was able to get the water out with the help we provided.

Re: Teasett Status
We all played high school basketball so we all have some understanding of the game. My issue is we continue to play kids that look uninterested, can’t shoot fts, and don’t play defense over a potential future star (family issues or not) that has shown flashes of abilities. Maybe we thought we were deeper than we actually are based off our weaker OOC schedule early on. I feel for eads and hope his injury doesn’t hold his career back.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 1:24 pmThe crowd that “knows” who should be playing and what should be done because they “watch” games is the least knowledgeable fans in the world. Re: Teasett Status
Understanding the game is not the issue. If you played the game at the high school level, then you should be well versed in how a guy earns playing time. Instead of asking why guys are playing over a “potential star”, maybe you should be asking, or at the least, wondering what you aren’t seeing that keeps your guy from playing. Kerns, and Clark, play the guys that show the most consistency, effort and ability in practice. Effort in practice dictates minutes on the court in a game. If they aren’t playing, maybe they just aren’t ready.311neers wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 1:40 pmWe all played high school basketball so we all have some understanding of the game. Stop with this nonsense! It's clear Kerns just wants to lose more games than he should be so he's playing guys that should be on the bench!AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 1:53 pmUnderstanding the game is not the issue. Re: Teasett Status
I agree, if you aren’t ready, probably shouldn’t be playing. We’ve got 3 guys that aren’t ready and are playing, some don’t show effort. If you watch the games, you know who these are. Thus, why we only have 10 d1 wins. Need boykin back ASAPAppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 1:53 pmUnderstanding the game is not the issue. You ever talk to the kids or just get your "news" from the HC?AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 1:27 pmThe back end of the Zocko situation is similar to the Kendall Lewis situation. For those familiar with why Lewis entered the portal. Only difference is Lewis was getting play time.

If the poor kid Zocko couldn't 'throw the ball in the ocean or turn it over in practice consistently' as someone posted above I would call that a 'Bad Eval' by the coaching staff. Over hyping players before they suit up has been a Kerns theme.
Kendall Lewis left campus like a ghost in the night. While the team was out of town he was moving out, coaching staff was clueless of this until they returned from Mobile, AL. And that's a fact jack.
Sad thing is Mike Eads was the 6th man on the championship team. Tossed aside like recycling ever since.
