Agreed. We're toast for NCAA-false hope if that's what we're being told. Ark State was another bad Q3 loss. I don't even think JMU was making it if they lost in the finals and we were 20 spots below them.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 10:35 amYep several of these 10+ loss power schools could lose by big margins in their conference tournaments today and tomorrow...nah that won't make a bit of difference.

Re: NIT
I’d say there is a 5-10% chance with the big dance…… I do think it’s much more likely, say 50% chance of NIT bid….. I think the all time lowest (or highest) NET to get an at large was 76……… not likely but I’ll still watch.

I 100% expect to be in it and agree with you. I don't see how we are left out.RaleighApp27609 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 3:43 pmIf App doesn't get into the NIT somehow then something is wrong with the selection process.

Re: NIT
Zero shot at NCAA. None whatsoever.
Pretty good chance at NIT but you can bet they won't reward us with a high seed...

Re: NIT
That is what I was referring to. I don't see how we get left out of the NIT. I just hope this team is focused and makes a deep run to start the momentum for next year and send Gregory out with a strong postseason.Woodstovegang wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 7:26 pm100% in NIT. Fat lady(my ex-wife) is singing on NCAA tourny chances.

I think we make some noise in either tournament. I want the big dance but will happily take NIT. Any chance to get to 30 wins and grow the brand is great by me. Ready to take a few more stairs.

Re: NIT
More I think about it, what do we have to lose by clinging on to the 5% chance of making the NCAA Tournament? It's not like we're thumping our chests about our metrics, so it's not embarrassing.

Re: NIT
At this point only a few teams with records similar to ours haven't locked themselves into the NCAA Tournament. If Vermont and GCU win their leagues we should have the best record of anyone on the outside looking in. That should put us in the NIT.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

Re: NIT
I definitely agree we should be in. I also think we should get a pretty good seed (hosting a game). But as I understand the new NIT structure, there are only 20 available spots.

Re: NIT
We will be “ on the board “ in the committee this weekend. We have a couple of unique advantages that could play out in the give and take. It's not all based on numbers but yes , a long shot , I would put it at one in five.

Re: NIT
Unfortunately, it appears that may well be the case… that we will not host. I read one article today, that had us in the last four for the NIT, which would not be hosting. Much of the new changes that the NCAA has made, we’ll just have to see how it plays out. It certainly looks like this years NIT will have fewer mid-majors and more P5’s.
