I was at App when the transition was made from the awful Press Maravich years to the great turnaround under Bobby Cremins. I wouldn't expect Fox to match the speed of that transition because this situation is worse that just losing ball games. However Bobby proved it can be done. Give Fox his 5 years and I guarantee App BB will be in 100% better shape than it is today both academically and on the scoreboard.

In all seriousness, I don't like trying to force a name especially before Fox even gets started. We've got to build a home court advantage again, and make it a place visiting teams don't look forward to coming to. All that said I do kind of like Fox Hole if Coach Fox can turn this team into a winner.

I think there is going to be a lot of people (not necessarily you, just using your post) sitting on the fence with a "wait and see if we start winning" attitude, but that's not when we need the excitement. It will be easy once we start winning to fill seats. Hopefully, the AD office and the YC puts a little effort into stirring up something.

I just remember being at APP when Mac Brown came, it was like a new day in APP football. The excitement was good to see and it did start us on to winning seasons.

I also like the student sections having names. To paraphrase Jimmy Buffett...We need more crazy fans! (fruitcakes)

I know you weren't directing this to me, but I am fully behind Fox. I like a lot of what he's had to say so far, and he does seem to be full of energy. Obviously I wanted Matt to have a chance due to the qualities he has, but I believe Fox has shown many of those characteristics as well. Time will tell, but I'm hopeful for the future.

If we don't do our job as alums to talk to people about ASU Bball and get them out to games then we might as well name it, "That big empty arena on 321." Lets worry about getting butts in seat or better yet standing in front of them. Nickname doesn't mean much with 450 people there to enjoy it. I accept Fox's challenge to help build his App Army. What about you guys?
