Fox inherited a GA St style football program, I'm waiting to pile on Fox for at least a year. We improved as the year progressed last year, not throwing in the towel yet.

I never remember a 29-4 start to a game, ever. Did you watch the game?

I'm not down on Fox. I still have the faith that he can turn it around but this team is playing as a poorly as any App team in recent memory. Perhaps, their shots may begin to fall and the results will begin to improve. But, at the moment watching this team play is painful.

I realize there are a lot of folks trying to learn the system and patience is certainly needed, but this team seems to have regressed from the first game of the season. The beauty of basketball is that you don't have to wait too long to get back out there and put the last game behind you. Hopefully, that happens during the Thanksgiving tourney.

The contrast for me (if we're going to compare Capel teams) was that Capel teams were frustrating because it looked like a bunch of really talented individual players playing poorly coached ball, poorly. Fox's teams look well coached and play team ball, but there's no one who can really score or lead.

Did you watch the Capel years, you enjoy reining fans in and back to reality. The reality here is Fox inherited a dumpster fire and it's going to take time. They are playing extremely poorly right now no doubt about it, but piling on isn't doing any good.

Commenting on their poor play is not piling on. I've never seen an App team play this poorly and that includes the Capel years. We showed tremendous improvement over the course of the season last year and I am hopeful we can do that again. I'm certainly not down on Fox, but his team is playing very, very bad basketball right now.

I'm staying optimistic but this is hard to watch. Hopefully, we can "shoot" our way out of this slump.

If you are asking who I would rather have as the coach, I won't hesitate to say Jim Fox. None of the comments are suggesting he's not the right guy for the job. But the team looks lost and out of sync right now. Poor shooting and the lack of a strong inside presence are killing this team.

It's interesting that the attendance was only 962.

I'll let Coach Fox say it since it's out of bounds to state it here.

I was one of those who said people shouldn't overreact after Furman. But now, uh...

Just to be clear, I love coach Fox. He will build us a really good program and I know it is a process that will take time to do. We need a couple real difference makers on the court right now, we don't have them. We have a LOT of guys on our roster (see picture below---Looks more like a football roster numbers wise) and I'm sure part of this is trying to find a combination that works together. We don't have a true big man and that is killing the inside game. I guess my biggest disappointment is the "lost look" we have had both on offense and defense. Fox says they practice well so I'm not sure how long that process takes to translate to game day.

Is Fox using part of these as a JV/practice squad?

Don't know huskie3, but when at the Furman game I noticed the bench was literally 2 rows.

Maybe he's just going for quantity over quality.... :?

I think that quantity was there to be a quick fix to the APR issues.

I don't think we have a JV team, but I'm sure the walk-ons are used as a "practice squad" - that's the main job of most walk-ons in any program.
