App is already a relatively easy school to get into...

You probably shouldn't repeat that to the 9,000+ applicants who will not be admitted to the '17 frosh class.

A kid in the Key Club of my Kiwanis Club has been admitted to App and has been turned down at at least two other FBS schools. That may be annecdotal, but it does happen. Part of the reason he was admiited was that he is active in two or three ex-curricular organizations.

...And I had a friend back in '99 that got accepted at Duke, turned down by chapel hill and he enrolled at App. There will always be one-offs situations. That is why you look at averages.

The numbers I presented are the middle 50%. That means 75% of the class had metrics meeting and exceeding the stats above.

With the interst level in App we literally have the opportunity to select the best of the best. The middle 50% stats and high volume of applicants suggests generally we are.

That would also mean that 25% don't.
