A little too much hero ball at the end. But he’s deserved and earned that right.
Tough weekend.

Huntley a three attempt. Jesus.
Tell me you haven’t watched Huntley over his career without telling me you haven’t watched Huntley over his career. Hes got a great shot from that location.

Awful shot selection second half by our guards, fallaways and off balance 3s, bad loss

Now the refs don’t call a foul? No way we were going to win this game.

Winnable game. Didn’t get it done. Again as I stated way back , winning on the road is tough. Especially against a team on a run. As to the officiating, I watch a lot of Sunbelt basketball and you just have to overcome the circumstances to win a close one.

We’ve won 10 of 13. Always sucks to lose but we’re still in good shape for a top 4 seed

To be clear , my opinion, this wasn’t a bad loss. ODU and LaLa were but G State would have been tough on anyone in the league today. Unfortunately it was us. And JMU stole one in Conway today.

Difference in the game was no bench production and they shot 3 times the number of free throws we did.

Sole possession of 5th, 1 game out of 1st. Think 3-1 to close out the season will be good enough for a top 4 seed. 4-0 and we could be in play for top 2 seed.

Our remaining games are against teams below us in standings. Let's go take them all.
Much parity in the conference.

I can’t see any team in a mid major conference having sustained success given the insane turnover of rosters. Any player deemed P4 worthy will most likely bolt after a solid year.

Side note did anyone catch the comments of the Ga State announcer at the end of the game? Sounded like he was bashing Kerns a bit for constant complaining?

Yep. Homer broadcasts are part and parcel of the ESPN+ platform, but he went over the line. I think he would’ve fought Kerns. He even said as much.

Doesn't Gonzaga do it most every year?

Gonzaga not spending a dime on football changes the dynamics a bit.

A little investment in basketball goes a long way. If we had say , $500k for the roster, we could dominate the conference with our coaching staff.

I am sure it does. The comment was that no mid major conference wins consistently.
For App. St to be powerhouse in SBC, probably just need $1 million or less

I get what you’re saying but I think basketball is a bit different than football. There are far more solid “mid majors” who are really power programs. Lots of schools in the traditional power conferences who really are there by association only. The Big East isn’t really considered a power conference (I don’t think) but they certainly dominate hoops. Gonzaga being a non football school is an outlier. I’m not saying consistency can’t be done but it’s gonna be difficult given the roster turnover. We can all agree that had we brought back the guys from last year who could have played we might be top 25ish.
