I just watched this game again, and even though Eaves filled it up in a big way Shabazz just jumps off the screen to me. He is going to be a great player. He has wonderful size for his position but he just moves so effortlessly on the court. He has all the tools to be that Alpha dog you need to win at the mid major level. Couple that with Johnson the freshman big guy who looks like get has big time potential and that is a recipe for future success. I know from a distance it looks like a rough year but these are the moments we will remember as the beginning of the rebirth of App Basketball! And that's reason enough to be excited! Go Apps!

Logan, Shabazz, and Johnson will all have significant impact on the program. Johnson just needs some S&C, and we all know he's about to get it.

Big Fox fan, but one ok win does not an upward "trend" make. Capel left us in shambles, but Fox has been underwhelming thus far.
Really? What did you expect him to do? The cupboard was bare, and we were on APR probation.

You can't make chicken salad out of...the situation we were in.
Didnt expect big win totals, did however expect us to be competitive. Which for the most part we havent been. Actually gotten worse this year. Happy about the win but still unsure we are headed in the right direction. This is a hire I was ecstatic about. He says all the right things and coaches his butt off on the sidelines but the results for the most part are getting worse.
Have you watched / listened to the games or just scoreboard watched? I may be wrong, but I would suspect just scoreboard watched. If so I can see where you would think there has been no improvement. I have however listened to most games and watched when the games have been available. What I have seen is some improvement - especially on the defensive end. What I see most is inconsistency resulting from youth which is correctable and coachable. I also see the team not giving up (competing in the hustle stats) and working hard to get over the hump.

Let's level set and also compare last year to this year:

On this date last year we were 4-10 with just 1 conference W and rallied for a 12-17 finish - that would have qualified for the conference tourney if we were eligible. This year we are 4-13 with 2 conference W's and just 5 home games to date.

Another point comparing last year to this year, albeit with capel recruits, we played with a fairly older team (JRs and SRs) in '14-'15. This year we are playing with true freshman getting significant minutes. We are not Duke or Kentucky getting McDonald's All-Americans. Our Freshman have to learn under fire and will be prone to mistakes. There will be frustratingly low lows, but the more this team plays Together I suspect we will see more improvement.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this team close like we did last year.
Kida tough to be a scoreboard fan and say Coach Fox coaches his butt off on the sidelines. I catch as many games as the radio and espn3 will allow.

you sound an awful lot like many of the Satterfield naysayers 2 years ago.
