"One poor game doesn't define a season and, hopefully, this is just a bump in the road."
I hear ya, but, this is the second time this season the team has hit this same bump. One would think they would realize there's another potential bump (Troy) in the road and try to avoid it (again). Good teams don't lose to a weaker team twice in one season. Then again, maybe Troy is on par with us. One thing is for certain they do have our number.

Out rebounded by 13 and gave up the most fast break points this season last night.

IMO, will not be going to NCAA March Madness unless win conference tourney. Maybe that is the destiny for Sunbelt unless regular season champ only has one or two losses total. If do not win conference, NIT would be nice result in rebuilding program.

Hate to see those 3’s go up so early in the shot clock...our shot selection was not good tonight, and we have to hit free throws.

We’ve been hitting a good percentage of shots and free throws through the season. Troy took away easy 3’s and we are not great inside the paint. Our energy needs to be as good in the 1st half as we typically do in the last5 minutes of a contest.

We have a losing record on Friday nights but are undefeated on Saturday (in Belt play).

Georgia St reschedule one of their Troy games for Tuesday 2/16. They'll be short three games as-is.

I can’t recall watching a team get within a score and fail to make a basket on as many seemingly consecutive trips as I witnessed last night. I know that the announcer said we went over 7:00 towards the end without a bucket. The constant clanking of free throws made it worse. How many times did we simply jack a 3 in the last 10:00? Call me old school but when a team is struggling take the ball to the basket and the chances for something good increases.

I’ll go ahead and say it. Defense is very very good! However, this may be the weakest offensive team I’ve ever seen.

Young guys struggling on the road
Eads Duhart Huntley and Glishkov a combined 0-4, 0-3 from deep
1-10 from deep as a team

We’ve had worse offensive teams, but yes we’re offensively challenged. I really don’t get all the folks on this board that can’t fathom when we lose a game. We’re climbing the stairs and improving....but we’re still short on talent.

The PBP guy is too cringeworthy to even mention.appstate24 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 5:55 pmCan we talk about how awful these announcers are?

Re: MBB @ Troy (1/29 7pm & 1/30 5pm)
You might be correct (worse offensive teams) but I’ve been suffering thru App basketball since 1968 so I’ve seen a lot of loses and from an offensive stand- point I cannot recall a poorer shooting team. We have talent; if we play like we did vs. Ga St. we are hard to beat and fun to watch. We go minutes without scoring in every game and when you struggle to score you have a hard time winning. But Now that I think about it, some of those Maravich teams in the early 70’s might have been worse. The point is, if you cannot score you cannot win. So, not to be just a complainer, my suggestions, to begin with, would be to run a little more and sit #1. As I write this we are tied. My prediction is: we loose this game when the next 2-4 minute drought shows up.

Re: MBB @ Troy (1/29 7pm & 1/30 5pm)
There is certainly time to still win this game but we are clearly not the same team that we saw in Boone over the previous 8 games. We better find our game before we head to Atlanta next weekend.
