Our next 6 conference games are against teams in the bottom half of the standings. 4 of the 6 are at home, next 3 are home. If we take care of business, should be in position for a top 2 seed.

Marshall is tied with us in the loss column. Take 'em one at a time... however, on paper, appear to be the most difficult opponent that we have yet to play.
Marshall still has Ark St and So. Alabama.
Definitely favorable schedule for the Mountaineers.

They get it from the NBA where two players run a screen & roll and the other three “position themselves” (in other words, stand around and rest and watch). This is the new way - and it is boring to watch. Bobby Knight’s motion offense is no more. Sharing the ball is a thing of the past. It is poor basketball and is being played at all levels. Makes it easy to guard. …. I watched high school game Friday night and saw the same thing. I just watched Maryland vs Indiana, pretty much the same.
A wonderful game has changed for the worst. Not as fun to watch without the movement.

I used to watch college basketball all the time, now, I only watch App because the game isn't the same and I need emotional investment of App to make me care.

I’m noticing we don’t do a particularly good job of moving without the ball. There’s a lot of standing around watching the ball handler and not moving to get open. There’s a lot of cut back behind the ball carrier to hand it off, but nobody is moving to get open without the ball. It’s like there’s no plan, just run around and see who gets open.

It would be nice to start our sets a little bit earlier in the shot clock. It takes Tate roughly 8 secs to get to the half court line and we aren’t starting our half court set until shot clock is at 16-18 seconds- that’s not that much time for a play. It’s probably all apart of the “slow it down plan”, but we do take it to the extreme. Even starting our half court sets with 20-22 secs left on the shot clock would give us a few more possessions a game and not make possessions feel rushed.

That is the whole point of the slow it down plan. You minimize the posessions and look to force bad shots from the opposing team if they are down.

It does not matter to me if the ball is over half court in 8 to 10 seconds. On offense, I am just not a fan of this style of ball. It is not just App. St. I would like to see more movement by guards without the ball.
Although it pains me to say this, several years ago, dook was very good at this.... maybe they still are..I have not watched a single dook game this year

Coach K was one of the first coaches to say I’d rather be a 30% three point shooting team than a 40% two point shooting team. Spread the floor and let my guards drive and dish.

Their entire athletic budget is a lot closer to Apps football budget than Apps entire athletic budget, and we aren't even tops in the sunbelt.

Really good teams still move well without the ball. It also depends on the play and situation. Sometimes App runs plays where all 5 guys are moving and screening, sometimes it's a two man game or iso-ball.

Lol yeah good timing.
But I pointed out on CSNbbs this would have ruined south Al at large chances if they were having a slightly better season (like jmu last year).

Ulm is like 340 in net out of 360 total d1 schools. Upsets are gonna happen, but they just don’t have the funds to compete.
