I hope you are being sarcastic. Do we want her to sue us again for equal pay with Coach Fox?

You realize she was interim AD for about 4 months in 2005? And that she ran our equity office for most of the 2000's. I think she was a vice chancellor for a while too. She has served Appalachian for decades. She is serious about complying with US laws governing race and gender - and I'd like to think that's a plus for a large state university.

She is a winning women's basketball. She lives in the area. She is likely available. She seems to be in favor with the administration. She will run a clean program. I don't see why we wouldn't have offered her the job already. Maybe we already have . . .

I'm sure LRob will be asked if she'd fill in as interim head coach for one season. She's retired from the university and she's been away from collegiate basketball for 17 years. A lot has changed in that time and space. It doesn't come back to ya exactly like riding a bike. Then there's the fact that LRob is a real estate broker in Blowing Rock with $8 mil in sales in 2013.

Keeping up the real estate biz and coaching full time with travel and recruiting involved is--to say the least--a heavy load. I think she'd be flattered to be asked and but give a quick and polite "no." From another point of view, LRob may have some names in mind of some former players, old colleagues, opposing head coaches or top drawer assistants who could "take the ball and run with it."

One person who fits the bill is former Mountaineer and ASU Athletics Hall of Fame center, Val Whiteside. Val coaches girls basketball at Spartanburg's Dorman High School. She. BTW, played for LRob at ASU.

Frankly, the timing isn't right for Val. Her son is a highly recruited wide receiver on the Dorman High football team. J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, in fact, holds an offer from ASU. This would be the world's worst timing to ask Val to leave her son behind during his senior year. She would be flattered, but give a polite "no thanks."

We can dream can't we? Is our administration willing and able to fork over that amount of moola to attract and keep a coach of that calibre?

Yeah - but do we really want a guy who is on NCAA Double Secret Probation for telephoning the little girl who pitched in the Little League World Series? --- :o

Bobby's health does not warrant the rigors of recruiting and day to day coaching, much the less, the travel.

At the present time we are only looking for an interm coach, I would think a retired college or high school coach would be the best choice. Don't ask someone to tear their life apart for one year without the expectation of it turning into full time job.

Bobby does not have to recruit.....only coach for 1 year. Much of the stress is removed for any coach this year and that was a major issue for Bobby. he might enjoy it and it would be a nice respite for him...just and opinion

We should place a call and see about Todd Starkey's interest level. Just left Lenoir Rhyne after 9 really good seasons to be an assistant at Indiana...maybe he would come straight back to Western NC?

Recruiting is year round in one form or another. I don't mean going out one or one or anything of the sort.

Do you think we could pay or be willing to pay what he is making as an assistant at Indiana even considering he would be back in Western North Carolina?

I like the suggestions for Cremins, Albright and Starkey--or someone of that ilk. Those three probably aren't available to us--but there are others out there. Speaking of which; we're now at two weeks and counting since the rug was jerked from under DV's feet and still no vacancy announcement from the university. It's under one month until fall practice begins. Where's Eddie Biedenbach these days?

How about Kelly Harper from Missouri State? She did good things in Cullowhee from 2005-2009. And the new assistant, Jackson, played for her.
