I know this is good for the conference...but I've gotta be honest...it irritates me a little in light of our football situation...

With stAte being on track to winning the Sun Belt Football crown yet again, I'm pulling for the Cajuns big time so if we win out (which we should) our guys will share the championship. I'm really growing a dislike for the Red Wolves...appfanjj wrote:What situation please?
Losing will do that. Especially if it consistently a tough challenging game.appfanjj wrote:Are we possibly developing a rivalry with a couple of SBC teams other than GS?
Jim Fox's Apps beat the Red Wolves twice last season--away and home. I'm happy for the 'Belt and for A-State BB for beating G-Town in DC.Rick83 wrote:I know this is good for the conference...but I've gotta be honest...it irritates me a little in light of our football situation...
That is true asu66, but...it still annoys me though about A-State...I also don't like losing to them at The Rock last year. Also, for what it's worth, I have a good feeling that Fox's team will turn the corner this year and he'll have his program's foundation established, although our record won't reflect it because of the schedule. Next year though, they'll make some noise.asu66 wrote:Jim Fox's Apps beat the Red Wolves twice last season--away and home. Our football situation is a different matter. Our coaches and players just didn't come through when the Troy game was on the line last week. A-State didn't put us behind the eight-ball. It was a self-inflicted wound.
We talked about this on the way home from Troy. While losing is never fun it does help create rivalries which we definitely need. It just takes time when changing to a new league but it is happening. It was just starting with stAte, but it will be more difficult to keep that growing depending on how often we play. Having Troy and Southern as rivals in our division is big for us.appfanjj wrote:Are we possibly developing a rivalry with a couple of SBC teams other than GS?
With you on both counts!Rick83 wrote:...it still annoys me though about A-State...I don't like losing to them at The Rock last year.
