Hate to use the term "good loss". But this is one of the better games we've played. UALR hit a couple key shots late that really made the difference. We had a few tough defensive lapses early in the game that really cost us :(

Apps fall 76-68. Despite the loss, the Apps looked pretty good throughout the game.

We just got mugged twice on our own front porch by two very strong teams. Any of us could point out the on-court plays that sealed our fate in both games, but we were competitive and will get better.

Another strong Arkansas team will test us at HCC on Monday evening. A-State is 11-4 on the season, but they trail home-standing CCU by 10 early in the second half.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

Coastal moved to 2-1 in the Belt with a double digit win over StAte. Hopefully the Red Wolves stagger into Boone Monday night.

P.S. Don't look now but GS is the only team undefeated in conference play.

Dang. I was thinking/hoping that this would be the game to get some conference momentum going. I didn't think ualr was as good this year after beard left for Texas tech, and they were annihalated by Louisiana the other night. Judging by the early season, it appears that the sun belt has some pretty strong bball teams.

Part of our dilemma this season is that at a time when we are trying to improve, the conference as a whole is better. We may be better but not see that reflected in our record.

With a new head coach, baseball season should be interesting. I'm not expecting to set the world on fire or anything, however, observing new leadership should be interesting.
