Apps trail 57-40 after trailing 39-32 at the half. Started strong, led 10-4 but turned it over 12 times in the first half.

Apps fall 83-72. Quite frankly, we can't play defense. We are now 1-6 in conference play. In years 1 and 2, we stood 3-4 at this point.

I don't want to seem apathetic, but I've run out of stuff to say after losses.

We were down 39-32 at the half and stood around and watched Ga State put the game out of reach with an early, six-minute, second-half 18-5 run. I didn't watch the game's streaming video as I was walking laps at the Y. I did however, listen intently to Randy Jackson's P-B-P. He indicated that the Panthers scored those 18 points with little or no defensive effort from the Apps. Of those 18 points, 14 came on uncontested drives or slashes down the lane; 2 were the result of an uncontested jumper from 5 feet out and the final 2 came on a flying tomahawk jam by Indiana transfer Jeremy Hollowell. For all practical purposes, the game was decided by this time.
With Kelvin Robinson out of the lineup, I expected our team to take a few lumps; but not this. I'm thinking more and more that we have a weak link with the coaches who are doing the scouting and/or with the ones designing and teaching our defense. There's more to this than just outmanned players. Allowing Ga State to run the same down-the-lane-drive-play for 14 points in just over three minutes is lame. Where was the time-out to fill in that gap in the "D" after the first four or six points? THIS ONE IS ON THE STAFF, IMHO! Fox might be well advised to make a change or two before next season.
Oh, did I mention that a Ga State freshmen, D'Marcus Simonds, axed the Apps for 25 points, 6 steals and 2 blocks. Yeah, you read that correctly.
A true freshman.

This one stat tells the story: Points in the paint-APP 18,GSU 56
And that's not because GSU has such dominant post play. As Chuck stated above, the vast majority of those were drives to the basket.
