MBB vs Georgia State

Up by one with about four minutes to play. Babic is about to shoot a pair of free throws. Hopefully we can pull this one out.

Betting Hunter doesn't show up for the postgame press conference again. Hasn't showed up for one in Boone so far. Why break his streak now.

Big win for App knocking off one of the top SB teams!!!

Great win! Sloppy game at times but we kept fighting. Bench came up really big. We had a little luck at the end and the team comes away with a big win.

Good free throw shooting, aggressive defense, and Georgia states TO issues definitely helped.

Congrats to all the players and coach Fox for closing this one out!

FINALLY closed out a close game. Shows the team that they can do it against one of the top conference teams. Hope they take that to heart.

And of course I couldn't go to this one. Figures.

14 threes! If only we could find that range every time out. Something about Ga State at home.

Big win! Maybe this is the one that convinces the team they can win. Happy for the kids and for Coach Fox.

Coach Fox's Apps have played their way out of the SBC cellar with a gentle boost from USA. The Jags won a 63-60 nail-biter over ULM in a game just completed in Monroe, La. The Apps move to 2-10. ULM falls to 1-11.

I miss Brownie for those remarks. Every time is see a Coors, I point out that it's The Banquet Beer. The new folks may be good on analysis, but Brownie can deliver a one-liner like no other.

Ga Sou and stAte both lost tonight as well. That's the top three in the standings all down on the same day. Time to finish the Ga sweep on Monday. Make Southern's trip back a miserable one.....well, more miserable than a trip to Statesboro usually is. ;)

So glad to see these guys finally get the payoff. Seems like every year we get one of these. At least this year we know we won't get left out of the SBC tourney. Hopefully this is a turning point.

The Holmes Center was more full than usual - the football team signed posters and was honored at halftime.

Fortunately, the MBB team kept a lot of those people around for an exciting finish. This game, plus an App win against Southern on Monday could be important first steps for revitalizing attendance and crowd support in the long run.

In the postgame presser, Fox even noted how the crowd noise in the final stretch was energizing for the players.

I spontaneously decided to take the family to Boone for this one. I still believe Fox can make us an upper echelon team in the conference in the next couple of years. Our ball movement led to good looks. I really like the offense that Fox runs, we just need to have players who can consistently knock down 3s and who need one or two double double type players who can rebound and score consistently in the paint. Ike Johnson can become that and Kinney has at times (although he couldn't hit a layup yesterday). Good, Robinson, Shabazz, and Logan can take this program places in the coming years if they get a little help from a few prizes on the recruiting trail.
