Coach Elderkin Given COTY By UALR's Joe Foley

Unread post by firemoose » Fri Mar 10, 2017 12:03 am

I'm pretty surprised that no one has posted this yet. We have no problem starting a dozen threads about everything that's wrong with a program but when something like this happens......nothing. This was a powerful moment that has been getting press all afternoon/evening and I was waiting to see if someone put it up. Guess I will since it looks like everyone missed it. The video speaks for itself.

It was a class act on his part. Also post game all of the Little Rock players gave her a hug.

The Sun Belt has really focused on Coach Elderkin's story during this tournament.

As I mentioned in a tweet yesterday, this is part of what's RIGHT with college athletics! Coaches like this and the players they coach are the reason that Yosef is so important to me. The Sun Belt women's basketball teams have all learned from Angel about how to tackle life and its challenges and have demonstrated the best of what competition can accomplish.

This was on sports center Instagram yesterday. I would have posted it but can't post a new topic from a phone.

Thanks, Moose and others. I've been a little under the weather all week and just didn't get the word 'til three minutes ago. This tips the scale for me in terms of the Sun Belt Conference. I've had some issues with the conference and several teams--but this action by an established Belt team head coach helps me to "assimilate" into our new family.

Coach Elderkin remains in my prayers.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!
