Basketball Admission $

Unread post by asu2000 » Wed Nov 08, 2017 8:08 pm

Does anyone know if they charge $$$ to attend the exhibition b-ball games? If they do charge what is the reason for charging? Going further - if they do charge, seems odd if they want to build attendance that there is a constant charge for the games. I also rarely see free promos, locals attend free midweek, that sort of thing to get warm bodies in the door. Just thoughts and questions.

crickets...
I was wondering the question too. We are in town this week and weekend and may want to catch a game. 6 warm bodies and possibly 4 friends to tag along too.

Regular game prices

You aren't allowed to charge for exhibition games
That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

I feel liked they missed the boat on this weekend to promote App Basketball. Make it a weekend adventure, stay and play. Football Thursday and Free Basketball on Saturday Sunday with football ticket or just a free basketball weekend in general. Charging for exhibition games is absurd, especially with previous years attendance levels. Make the money by selling concessions this weekend and have t-shirt deals or something. So much opportunity has been lost in my opinion. Heck even $5 for any ticket is better than full price. Most people do not even know that we have games this weekend.

A valid football ticket stub will allow for free admission to the men's basketball game against South Florida.

You assume that the marketing department knows that basketball has started. Besides something that has been connected with football that has been about basketball. And Mountaineer Mildness doesn't count. The football billboard at the foot of lenoir mountain has had 3 different football bills on it, and I haven't seen one for basketball yet.
That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

Not really because those that actually go to the game will offset the basketball people that won't go to the game because they don't want to have to fight through the football traffic to get there.

10 years ago I would think this would be an issue as there were many more "basketball people". After the attendance at Mountaineer Madness, I don't think the interest is there even from the basketball people. I think the amount of people that take advantage of the offer will be greater than the basketball people. Plus, the deal is not aimed towards the basketball people as they are already committed to the team. It's to promote to other App fans. Hopefully they announce at the game as well.
