Sunbelt Action Friday

Unread post by agentpaul001 » Sat Nov 11, 2017 9:07 am

Several Sunbelt teams opened up the season on Friday. Only notable win was Georgia Southern over Wake Forest. Congrats to that squad although Wake doesn’t look to be a good squad this year. Couple other Sunbelt squads lost close ones. Hopefully that tide turns over the weekend. It’d be great to see SB field a couple tournament teams at some point.

Notably Wake Forest was an 11PT favorite coming in. These early games are anybody’s guess.

For reference last year Sunbelt was 13th in RPI compared to SOCON in 16th. Granted a much changed SOCON. Conference as a whole wasn't far behind the CAA, MVC, WAC, and MWC.

Sunbelt went 2-1 last night in D1 games. Troy lost in OT to Hawaii.

"Monster" night for Sunbelt last night with Louisiana beating Iowa, Troy staying close, and league went 7-2 over Sunday and Monday which isn't half bad.

Sun Belt RPI is now 8th overall ahead of every minor conference aside from WAC and barely behind the Big Ten.

This will drop... but still nice start to OOC slate for the Sun Belt.

Too much homecooking for UTA to overcome. Lost 75-74. Bama shot 17 FT's in the 2nd half while UTA had 3. :? They look like the class of the league right now.

Yah UTA looks to lead the conference if they keep this up. They notched a couple more wins over last couple days. League 6-2 over last two days.

We’ve trickled back down to 13th, go figure.

8-3 Over last two nights, sitting at 16th since our league SOS is 27th lol. Notching wins over the even smaller leagues, but nothing too impressive unfortunately.

they've had the best teams in our league for several years now, just haven't made it far in the post season. This year should be the perfect storm for UTA since Hervey, Neal, Wilson, etc. are seniors.
