Win or lose, can't say I was impressed with our plays to end regulation and the first OT. We made no effort to get a good shot.

I’ve had high hopes for Fox since he started, but this is getting really hard to watch. We haven’t had anything close to a close out mentality. This looked like another loss to an inferior team from what I saw. Now I’m sort of worried about the WCU game in a couple weeks.

Frustrating. Another tough loss. On to Davidson.

Yeah this was a disappointing loss in a game we should have won for sure. We need better d up top, the switching was not good and our guys get beat easily on the dribble and shot fake.

I'd like to know why Fox let Ronshad have the ball at the end of the first overtime. He had taken a bad shot at the end of regulation and took an even worse shot at the end of the first overtime.

JMU gets its first D1 win. Their only other is against a DIII.

Not a b-ball expert but I tuned in at the start of the first OT, I had other things to do and we were down by 5 with 45ish seconds (probably wasn’t right) thought for sure we’d lost there. Went on the board only to find out we made it to a second OT and lost. From a very high view, we look better and with this group we have to find a way to finish.

I really thought with Fox coming from Davidson/McKillop that GRITTY, TOUGH DEFENSE was a GIVEN!... I was WRONG!

In neither case did we attempt to get anything other than a contested three pointer. I can't believe that's what they drew up after the time out.

This is beginning to look like baseball a couple years back. get a nice lead and figure a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. We keep inventing new ways to lose.

Another bad result. Wish we could win against common opponents and hold leads.

Some really nice performances were turned in despite the loss. Forrest had an incredible offensive game with 36 points on 11-20 shooting/7-12 from 3. On the flip side he did have six turnovers to tie Shabazz for that honor. Kinney had his best offensive output of the year with 16 points on 7-10 shooting before fouling out. Issac Johnson had 16 rebounds.

Collectively, we shot better from the field and the foul line than Madison (though they took 16 more foul shots). We had 19 assists to their 14. Rebounds were a wash, though they had 20 offensive rebounds. We had twice the number of turnovers (20-10).

These are the kinds of games we need to win as we try and move the needle in the right direction for the program. We beat this Madison team last year. Both Western Michigan and JMU each have one D1 victory, at our expense. They are 2-0 v. App, 0-7 v. all other D1 competition.

I do feel there is more talent on the floor but we appear to be very similar to the previous Fox teams in terms of their play on the court. No doubt, Forrest is going to be a great one and will hopefully be a steady force as he matures. But some folks just don't seem to have really progressed beyond what they brought as freshmen.

Maybe a return to the Holmes Center on Saturday v. Davidson (2-1) will be the tonic this team needs. They then play four of the next six on the road. The six of the next seven OOC games are against mid majors, two of whom are currently winless against D1 competition(Hampton and Western Carolina). Collectively, the teams we play before conference play starts are currently an overall 14-13.

Coach Fox is showing more and more he isn't the answer. He has assembled a nice group of talent despite our recent lack of sucess and we still can't beat a mediocre team on the road.

I think calling JMU mediocre is being generous. However the talent is there now. He's gotta coach better.

There are so many times I see our guys cutting across the lane and /or making decent attempts to get open at the back door and when they are open we are still taking 3 threes without any consideration of getting ball inside and then back out if necessary. When we were winning this game we were actually executing properly. We some how gave up on what was working and I don't think it was defensive adjustment. Grif was actually having a lot of success in the paint and then kaboom, we are back to taking bad shots.

You guys kill me...this team is light years better than the last three! They’re 6 games into this season and you’ve already decided who and what they are going to be come March. ...and you call yourselves App fans. Show up at a game and cheer for OUR team!
