Again tonight you can see the growth in this team but the second half jinx struck again. I am anxious to see the team Saturday at home where we have played significantly better.

BTW, Davidson up on Charlotte 84-67.

But we are taking good shots (for the most part). They just aren't falling.

85-72. Cold, cold shooting gives VCU its first ever victory over the good guys.

It is interesting to compare first halves with second halves this year. Davidson has been the exception.

Closer than the final score, for the most part.Tough environment, should make us better.Turn overs were about double and free throw shooting hurt. With that,I'm seeing improvement in other phases, and again see talent on the floor. As of this post mortem , things seem to be going in the right direction.

I believe we are also at a point in our growth where we can beat the world in Boone, and lose to anyone on the road. Of course, a loss at VCU could happen to any team, good or bad.

Saturday's game should give us a clue about playing well at home, I'm hopeful we see a repeat of last Saturday. Need to get that one before another tough road stretch.

As my wife is a VCU alumnus, I was hoping for a win. Hopefully we'll get them in Boone next season where we own a victory over them.

We still hold a 2-1 all-time lead on them.

I thought we lost to them previously in Richmond.

Edit: I guess we won that one 73-70.

We fell behind in that game by, I want to say, 18 points in the second half, but stormed back late to steal the game. I held out hope for a similar result last night, but that damn invisible lid on the basket.

Still stay that win at VCU back in 07 I think was the best basketball game I've ever watched live.

My VCU grad wife and our 3 kids were at the game, crowd seemed kind of subdued for much of the game, which at VCU is an impressive accomplishment in it self.

Sadly, all my kids were rooting for Mom's team. But they have been to VCU games before and only ever watched App football and field hockey before, so I guess they have learned to cheer for App football and VCU basketball. They were split at last month's field hockey game.

I wonder why Hinton only played 2 minutes in this game? He's been a pretty good spark off of the bench lately.

My compliments for watching field hockey in person! We need to support all the sports- so thank you.

Did your wife play field hockey at VCU?
