APP vs Hampton

Unread post by MAD Doctor » Wed Dec 20, 2017 11:46 am

It's about time to win a road game. This Hampton team has lost to Coastal, Rider (twice), and Gardner Webb. We beat them by 19 last year.
Anything less than a double-digit win would be disappointing.
Let's get a little consistency going before conference.

Apps down 10 with 12 turnovers in the first half. This to a team with 1 D1 win. Fortunately time to rebound and get back in this.

HU up 39-22 at the half. We were up 18-12 at one point.

Wish I had your optimism. Unless something major changes, Jim Fox is observing the beginning of the end of his tenure. I've almost convinced myself that he's in over his head. I desperately want to be wrong.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

I hope I’m wrong going forward, but this is starting to look/feel a lot like last year...looked like progress early (played well at Davidson) in the season, then a bad loss to WCU, and a very disappointing conference season. IF this game is a loss, I’ll chalk it up to he long break during exams, and hope that conference play proves that this team can get something going. We’ve looked like we were right on the verge of something good this year, then I see games like this.

What a disgrace to be getting boatraced on the road by a MEAC team. What's tonight's built in excuse?

This team isn't worth watching on the road. At home is a different story.

I'd still like someone to tell me what our identity is as a team. We are all over the place. The only constant is we don't do anything well and we play really fundamentally unsound 90% of the time. I've come to realize that Shabazz is really not good for this team. He has a NBA mentality on both ends of the court.
