App vs Ohio St
Game is on TV in Charlotte Area (Big Ten Network / Spectrum). Feels good to see us on a real TV feed.
Down 14-9 right now but early in the half. Refs aren't going to be our friends tonight...

It's extremely early, but our defense is looking better in the early stages tonight. Seacat was one of the first players off the bench

This team has zero discipline. Is every possession one on one and then swinging gate defense? What are they trying to do?

Re: App vs Ohio St
Our defense looked improved for first fifteen minutes, but we fell apart in the last few minutes of the half. Miserable. Looked totally out of rhythm. We made it way too easy. Too many turnovers. Were only down by a few possessions with about three to go, and it just fell apart.
Ohio St doesn't look great so we're not out of this. But hopefully we come out with more fire. Seemed like we couldn't break their D and just tried Iso plays with whomever wanted the ball.

Re: App vs Ohio St
Ohio St simply took us out if the way we prefer to play, hence no consistent rhythm. Once again our guys played hard until the final horn and always played like they thought they could win. This is a staple of Fox’s teams that I think will eventually pay off. This was the first time all year that I thought we looked really overmatched from an athletic and talent standpoint, with VCU a close second.

Re: App vs Ohio St
Ohio State took away the lane and our ability to drive. Our inability to hit from behind the arc only compounded the problem. He got his points but they really neutralized Ronshad. Pretty inauspicious start for Seacat. Hopefully, we'll have better luck against Hampton.

Re: App vs Ohio St
they've been getting steadily better for several years under Wes Miller. It all started when he got the job and we were still in the Socon with them. He's recruiting well and they don't have football. Basketball can become a more primary sport and garner more support. UNCW and UNCA have had some success over the years as well, partly due to the lack of a football program...and those schools are not as remote so fans/alumni can make it to more games in the middle of the week. Those are only a few of the variable, though.

I understand that rationale but I'm not on board with it,although frankly I used to be.I like Jim but I'm tired of excuses , we've had consistent winners in Boone before and it can be done again. I think football success only helps with exposure and recruiting. We have better athletes on the court the past couple of years.I think we hit our ceiling with Fox and company next year.I hope it's a high one.
