Forget everything except this from the Iggles' website...

• Georgia Southern trails the all-time series, which began in 1949, 26-22, but the Eagles have won five of six since both teams joined the Sun Belt in 2014-15.

Enuff!

Is it just me or is our offense a lot more stagnant now than it was when Fox first took over? We have better athletes to run it now, but there seems to be more standing around than (watching Shabazz dribble) than the past. I was really excited about the constant motion and hard cuts a few years ago. Maybe the coaches have adapted in some ways to fit the personnel more than I know.

It appears that we could easily be ahead by double figures in this game if not for a few silly turnovers.

Up by 4 at half so can’t be too frustrated. Our defense has looked solid, particularly our rebounding. Hopefully we can start knocking some more shots down in second half.

Edit: hope we can push inside more and get another fall on Tookie. I’m watching online but refs seem to be letting a ton go...

Sitting here looks like we are about 2 of 16 three point attempts . Defense is solid.

Difficult one to see us lose. Blew a 12 point lead. Tookie made tough shots and unfortunately our best dude did not.

We had 2 major droughts in that game. Wonder what we shot from 3.

The six-minute FG drought didn't help!

Six minutes? Really?

On the brighter side, they did hit 75% of FT’s.

Our program is as stagnant as our shooting. I will not renew my 3 season tickets unless there is change. I have bought them for years just to support our athletic dept, didn't make a game last year and haven't yet this year...

The center court display board is very nice. Much like the fb display it is large but not out of place. No idea how indoor football will work when lifted higher but I guess it can. All I have to say about the game.

Three point attempts:

Justin Forrest 2 for 11
Ronshad Shabazz 2 for 9

All you need to know.

Another wasted opportunity in front of a decent home crowd on a Saturday afternoon. Our offense in particular looked awful today. Pass it around the perimeter for 25 seconds and throw up a 3 pointer.

Thoughts:

Felt we would go 0-2 this weekend, which we did, but it was a little better product than I expected. We are definitely slowly improving.

Crowd was relatively strong today. Decent student section.

Scoreboards were impressive.

My biggest disappointment was Forrest. He was so dynamic earlier in the season. This was my first chance to see him live. Nothing on the kid, he played hard, just not his best day shooting including two missed layups. Maybe the longer season has him fatigued?

Still thinking Fox deserves one more year. We’ll be more experienced next year.

Basically agree on all accounts. Early in the season it was our defense that was costing us, now it's the offense. Forrest and Shabazz were a combined 7-33 from the floor today, you're never going to win games against good teams when your two best players are that cold. Agreed on Forrest, he's no doubt loaded with talent but he's been cold the past few games. We really need him to snap out of it if we want to continue to be competitive in conference play. I thought our defense played well today, very rarely did GaSo have a really easy look. this makes me hope that Fox is learning some things, after how atrocious our D was early on maybe he's fixing that. We've seen our team play good offense and good defense this year, time to put it all together and watch them play well on both ends at the same time. And I agree it would be pointless to fire Fox this year since he basically has the entire tean returning for next season. If we finish around .500 in conference play (minimum of 7 wins) he deserves another season. As long as the team doesn't completely fall apart I think we'll get there

I was less than impressed with Fox's coaching today. I felt like GaSouthern was going through the motions and they pulled it out.

Shabazz was taken out with 8 left and the Eagles went on a run. Final play was Shabazz taking a three, despite only being down one. And there was a timeout left on the board.

Holley gave good minutes on Thursday, yet didn't play today. He's always good for a three and some hustle plays.

This team is fatally one-dimensional on offense. If Shabazz or Forrest is off from 3, then it's trouble.

While I'm not convinced that Fox is the answer, he will have no excuses next year. Just doesn't seem that our teams under him improve from beginning to end of year.

My biggest concern for next year is that our front court and down low presence will be even less than this year.

Another predicable meltdown and letdown .It's obvious that we have talent but we don't play smart. We aren't well coached . The last series was a comical deja view all over again....

that was my concern for next year as well, but I think that Seacat has a good bit of upside. If he can develop some offensive moves, he could be dangerous. Also, we're recruiting a 6'8" 250 kid....of course, we're his only offer, so who knows how it will shake out. If Ike Johnson continues the improvement, he will be a force in the sunbelt. I think we will miss Hinton. He's given good minutes off the bench...6'7", you can't leave him open from 3, and he hustles and grabs rebounds. There's no current player on the roster that can replace the role Hinton has played this year, that I know of.
