I wonder if the state of App basketball isn't doing irreparable harm to the quest to move up. I realize the realignment process is focused on football, but damn, our basketball program is h-o-r-r-e-n-d-o-u-s and certainly not doing us any favors by offering nothing in the sporting realm from November to March.

We are one coaching change and 2 recruiting classes away from being good. It does not take as long in BB to get good as FB or BB....IMO!

At least Okam has a 3.94 GPA.

Last year Healy was intentionally fouled in a game. Grabbed from behind and slammed to the floor. EVERYONE on the bench was up moving toward the court. Who was on the bench LAUGHING...Okam. You can have his 3.94 and his 7-1 frame and go back to Rutgers or wherever. (NOTHING personal toward you....)

Seriously who cares? Nobody will even remember it in a week. Besides, the only sport that matters is football. If you don't believe me look at revenue generated on a sport by sport basis.

There may not be as much revenue but its certainly important revenue from Hoops. And it helps the perception of your athletic department. This cannot help the image that is portrayed to FBS leagues.

Look at it this way. In 2005 we had Hot Hot Hot. In 2007 we had Miss Teen South Carolina. So the last two times we had an embarassing viral video, the next football season we won a National Championship.

This time we might substitute "National Championship" for "leaving the SoCon and leaving Western without a reason to live".
