Up 39-35 at the half...

How long into the second half until we are down 8?

Another game where it looks like we should/could be way ahead. When did UTA become so bad? I was at the game in Boone and they looked lethargic and uninterested until near the end. They start 5 seniors and have been predicted to win the belt for 2 or 3 years. It almost seems like they never run in practice.

Apps just cannot finish. 5 points in the last 7 minutes of game time to this point. Can't do that and expect to win.

Positive: we shot free throws well.

Too many 3s, but especially too many missed 3s.

And Fox caps it off with a mental mistake of his own...a technical foul with 7 seconds left and no chance to win, after O’showen clearly pushed off.

I just hope we get to double digits in D1 wins this year.

Same story, different day.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

We do find different ways to lose. Free throw shooting was on target last night and Shabazz had one of his better shooting nights but aside from that...Williams and Forrest combined for 2-14 from 3, not counting Ronshad, the rest of the team was 3-21 from behind the arc, while UTA was 10-16. We seem to be able to stay with opposition for 3/4s of the game but have often faltered at the end. Some see that as progress, and it well may be, but losing close games nonetheless is a strange way to measure success.

Outside of our game tomorrow v. Texas State, we only have games against teams either below us in the standings (stAte and LR) or teams just above us (USA, Troy, Coastal). If we have any hope of salvaging this season, its got to happen over these last six games.

what's so frustrating to me is that we (like many other times this season) just look like a better team than the opposition, then we somehow lose...although we made stAte look like an NBA team last weekend. Our ball movement was really good at times last night, just couldn't knock down shots, sometimes easy shots, and we had silly turnovers as really inopportune times.

For those of you who were complaining about the coaching staff's use of Shabazz as point guard/combo guard, they did use O'Showen Williams at point a lot more last night, although Shabazz played it alot too.

Disappointing for sure. 1-6 over last seven games...

Still an outside shot at turning in a winning or break even conference record though with the weak SOS ahead of us. We'd need to go 5-2.

Arkansas St, UALR, Troy, and South Alabama are all very winnable. Texas State this weekend is our toughest game remaining. Hope we can come out strong.

As bad as we are, we are only 1 game out of 5th place.

I was at the game and it seemed like we were forcing shots in the last 5 minutes. The team didn't seem to have much energy.

Fox did get pretty heated though when get got the technical. The guy has some fire

We aren't Davidson. Stop shooting 3's.

We've been shooting 3's the entire time Jim's been here. This team has attempted and made more 3's than any other team in the Sun Belt by far. However, made percentage is only fifth in the league.

What do you think hapapp... does Fox get the fifth year or is four enough?

I want to give Fox his full five, although I am quite frustrated at this point in time. I'm wondering if the proposed free transfer rule change might force our hand to make a coaching change this year. We don't want to run the risk of having our next coach come in having to stock a totally empty cupboard should that proposed rule change get passed.
