I'm almost certain we'll win the sun belt and then barely lose to UVA in the NCAA championship game. Almost certain.
That's completely ridiculous.

UVA's not making the championship game this year.

‘Nova is going to beat us with a heartbreaker at the buzzer like they did to the holes 2 years ago

We are now one game out of third place, and we’ll likely be favored in all five of our remaining games. Wow.
We're one game in either direction from third and tenth right now.

OK fine but we've been within a game of 10th for eight years. Focus on the new!

Obviously a lot of ball left to be played, but it is hard to envision a scenario in which we do not make the Final Four.

First back to back conference road wins in eight seasons. There's no way we don't make the final four or at least finish our season in March.

Hopefully this is a sign of actual improvement in our program. Technically we've had our best season in several years but thats depressing. Frankly, I am elated we are in this position right now...2 wins in a row on the road in conference play with a legit chance to finish the season with a winning conference record or at least .500....mediocrity would be much better this year than the last 4 years...and we have a talented group coming back next season...things are looking much better for us

I noticed that the typical few perpetually negative naysayers haven’t commented at all...probably part of the anti Satterfield/anti Nate Woody crowd a few years ago too.

I'd wager that most of those have only been looking at box scores all season as well.

Williams was the difference maker. Foul shooting late sealed it. I'll take the win but let's not get carried away CCU is pretty bad.It is true however that if we win out , we will be NCAA Champions.

I will start by saying I don't follow APP BB. BUT! I do follow the thread on here. It has gone on and on about how terrible we are and we need to get rid of Fox and the sky is falling and then I read we are a game out of 3rd place. We are on the verge of third place and Capel is gone. How bad can things be?

Three of the remaining five conference games are at home and all of them are against the worst teams in the Belt. We actually have a shot to make a run for the 3 seed.

Anything can happen in roundball.

Good post. It's tiresome reading someone or other always wanting to fire a coach. :(

Conference standings aside (namely because its a bad conference in BB this year), but we still have less than 10 division I wins in Coach Fox' 4th year.

People have patience! We had a completely bankrupt program 4 years ago and if naysayers would bother to show up they would see signs of change.

I think overall impression of this season would have been drastically improved by pulling out the contest with JMU and a couple of the conference losses going our way. We’ve shown flashes this year but our defense seems to have continued to improve even as our offense has somewhat struggled, particularly outside the line. Hopefully those shots will start falling soon.

It’s nice to still be playing for something in February. I think the team has the talent to win the Sunbelt, particularly if our path doesn’t run right up against ULL. For now it’d just be nice to win a conference tournament game.

Actually, Troy and USA are above us in the standings.

Not to dispute the sentiment and I do agree that there is more talent on this squad than the first that Fox inherited. But, I keep looking back to that first season that included a victory over Va Tech, you know the team that just beat UNC and UVA in the course of a week or so. Yes, patience is required but this is year 4 and we are still searching for a .500 season. I'm hopeful that the last two games might be the start of a strong finish and do believe that next year has the potential to be the best in a while. That will be when we know whether the right guy is in charge.

I liked Kinney and Seacat in the game at the same time, gave rebounding and opened perimeter shooting (now if they will just start falling).

I was talking to one of Cremmins former players. Asked him a leading question. "Do yo think Fox will be back next year?" His answer "I hope so!" Won't go into more depth but he was positive about the future.

To add more potential good news, both road games are against teams who kicked their leading scorer off the team in the last week.
