Re: RPI
the Cajuns are #35. I wonder if the Sun Belt has every had a team that high?...maybe Little Rock a couple years ago. This Louisiana team has a chance to win a game or two in the NCAA tourney unless they get beat in the SB tourney and get left out. The are top 10-12 in several NCAA statistical categories...of course, they've been up there statistically for a few years, but haven't made the ncaa tournament.
Also, either we caught Davidson on a really bad day, or they have improved tremendously. Their name pops up near the top of lots of categories, including #1 in the country in assist-turnover ratio and #2 in fewest turnovers, and top 5-10 in several more.

Re: RPI
At #90 in the RPI, they are our only top 100 win. They do have a losing record on the road for the season.app97 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 9:11 amthe Cajuns are #35. Re: RPI
Fox & Co. are a better team than last year by a wide margin; they just can't shake off the inconsistency label. They can take another step up by beating a better-than-their-record-shows CCU team on Sat. and knock off somebody in the tourney next week.
CCU won't be easy to beat. In their most recent game at A-State (just two days after we got beat in Jonesboro) the Chants had two guys (sophomores Gumbs-Frater and Bamba) come off the bench to score a combined 39 points and grab a combined 9 boards. A junior (Cuthbertson) went for 19 points and 9 boards. As a team, CCU out-rebounded the Red Wolves by 10 and they dished out 20 assists on 29 shots from the floor. If the Apps allow these stats on Sat., it'll be a loss and an ugly step backward. #Finish Strong!

If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

Too bad the Cajuns' RPI drops everytime they play a SunBelt team.app97 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 9:11 amthe Cajuns are #35. Re: RPI
For anyone curious about more modern rankings, we're 218 in kenpom. It's modest, but would be our highest ranking since Capel's first year (212). We were 274 last year. Last time we were actually any good - in 2010 - we were 109.
ULL is 54, btw.

Re: RPI
With all the conversations over the last few years about what we "should" expect out of a program from a W-L, quality of student athletes, off court performance, etc. etc. is this reasonable or not (RPI > 200)? At some point, I think we should expect more. Maybe next year.
