App + 5.5 vs. UTA tomorrow.
Cheap as it's going get.
I wish I could bet the first half.

He led the country at FT%age, correct?TheMoody1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 2:46 pmI miss Donald Simms.agentpaul001 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 1:47 pmOne crazy stat. Shabazz and Forrest have shot a combined 264 free throws this season at 66%~. Just over eight attempts a game. They were 6/7 against UALR. A similar performance against UTA would go a long way.

Yep, he was even averaging better than the NBA's best for a while.Gonzo wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 3:50 pmHe led the country at FT%age, correct?TheMoody1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 2:46 pmI miss Donald Simms.agentpaul001 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 1:47 pmOne crazy stat. Re: 2018 Sun Belt Basketball Tournament
Hervey didn’t look great when we played them this year. He missed tons of shots in Boone, and most of the team just appeared lazy and uninterested. It was Neal who almost single handedly brought them back when they turned up the pressure, and succeeded in bringing them back for the win in Arlington. He had career highs in points against us.agentpaul001 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 11:34 amUTA will be a tough matchup. Need to shutdown Hervey. He got into foul trouble in against us and it helped quite a bit. They have one of the weakest benches in the country contributing just 28.5% of minutes.
In both those matchups against UTA we ran out to decent leads (20 in the win), but then gave them back gradually over course of game. Even in our loss we led nearly the whole game. Up by 6 with about 9 mins left.
Hopefully we can come out strong again for a third time. Given our great play last game and having some experience on the court, I think that'll be the case again.
My biggest concern with UTA is Hervey going lights out and getting some of our bigs (Kinney, Isaac, and TJ into foul issues early). The whole team was clutch last game, but Kinney played fantastic so hopefully he's able to get some serious minutes in.
- Come out hot.
- Shut down Hervey
- Win the foul differential
- Protect the 3-pt line (they're one of the better three point shooting teams in country).
Btw after last game O'Showen Williams and Craig Hinton are both top 400 nationally in three point percentage. Craig is shooting 40% :0

Robert Ferringo is a member of the Basketball Writer's Association of America and is considered one of the best college basketball handicappers in the country. He's predicting UTA to upset UL and win the tournament.
He writes:
"So I will call for an upset and say that UT-Arlington, the most experienced team in the nation, will avenge their poor showing in last year's tournament. They are playing close to home in Texas, and I can see Hervey and Neal leading this team to an emotional title win."
Hope their team is overlooking us and thinking about UL. Go get 'em APPS!

Re: 2018 Sun Belt Basketball Tournament
I think we stand a really good shot at UTA and expect a win, but I agree that if UTA gets past us they stand a pretty good shot at taking this thing.
I think Wednesday's game is going to help us come bursting out of the gates. UTA played early last week, so it's been a week since their last game...
The money is coming in on UTA and has pushed the line to UTA -6.5 and -3.5 at half. Both dumb numbers.

Re: 2018 Sun Belt Basketball Tournament
Hervey is not the same player we faced in Boone and if we don't do a better job on Neal then it could be a long day. Hopefully, our guys are pumped for the opportunity and not satisfied with their huge win on Wednesday. Not likely that we shoot the 3 like we did on Wednesday, so this game may require a more patient approach. Of course, I thought the LR game would be a dogfight, so what do I know?

37-13. Texas St looks terrible. They'll probably get their bench in with time to spare in second lol. Refs are continuing to call a pretty close game though, should help us I think.

Not the start we need. Poor shot selection. Hopefully, Neal doesn't keep hitting those threes.

Re: 2018 Sun Belt Basketball Tournament
Hate to say it but this is beginning to look like the team prior to the last eight games. Not shooting nearly at the clip on Wednesday.

Re: 2018 Sun Belt Basketball Tournament
Neal is doing it again! He's averaging 30 points a game against us and he already has 14 in the first 8 minutes with 4 threes.

Re: 2018 Sun Belt Basketball Tournament
Hate to say it but this looks it might be over at halftime as Neal single-handedly is destroying us. Neal is outscoring us 20-12.
