Way to close the first half Apps! 3 from Healy ties it at 34 at the break.

Tied 34-34 at the half.

Capel called a timeout when Elon was up 31-19 and whatever he told the team worked. Mountaineers close out the 1st half on a 15-3 run. Baskin with 9 and Healy with 7.

Apps finished the first half (and went on the run) with both Burgess and Neal on the floor. Canty had two fouls, pushed Hamilton to the 3. Very nice run to finish the half.

80-70 final!

4 straight, 5 of the last 6. Great win, showed some real resilience after trailing by 12 in the first half.

Agree it's a nice win. Looked like the troops got motivated. I was jumping back and forth between the game and the boards and trying to keep up with it all while I'm sick. Now I feel sicker.

But happy for the win. :D

If we play like we did to close the 1st half and the entire 2nd half, we can win the North Division and make a run.

There are still kinks to work out, and the team is still young, but if they can stay on this nice run, this season still has a chance to be special. It's obvious that having Neal back in the fold has made this team completely different, but I was really impressed with the quickness on defensive rotations which was the difference today. They also didn't cave like previous App teams and were able to close out a very good opponent.

Good win, gotta keep it going.

At the start of the game Neal was bad and Elon was tearing us apart with all the plays Matheny learned from McKillop. I hate to say it about Trice, but he's not a good defender and too hot/cold on offense. After we settled down, did a little zone defense with Okam and a couple timeouts, the defense was much better. Gotta give credit to the coaches on that one.

Team showed a lot of fight and got their shots and most importantly, showed patience.

Nice home win for the Apps. Healy's a breath of fresh air. Baskin has found a home in the High Country!

Baskin has been the find of the season thus far. He has a good all around game. He also has good touch from the FT line for a big man.

I recall in the intrasquad scrimmage that he was the leading scorer. He seemed to start the season on a slower note but has really proven to be a key player in our recent resurgence.

Nice comeback win today. We were pretty shaky early especially on the defensive side. They tightened down late in the first half and continued to do well in the 2nd half. It was good to see them make the needed adjustments and pick up a good win. We shot the ball very well in the 2nd half too. As Chuck and Jerry mentioned, Healy and Baskin played very well but I believe we had five guys in double figures today which really helps the cause. My only negative was the turnovers from our backcourt. Nice win Apps. I hope the students will turn out on Monday.

Have to give some credit to the coaches for that win. They made the necessary adjustments to get the team back into the game. Also, much credit goes to the players for stepping up their defensive efforts. Let's keep this going!
