MBB: Tx Arlington @ App State 7 PM HCC APPVISION

UTA enters HCC tonite with a half-dozen new players and a new coach. They have been terrible on the road so far this season. Coach Fox and the Apps would be well-advised to be all over the weary travellers early and often. This is not an automatic win. But it Appsolutely must be a win.

The Mavs will win a road game sometime soon. Better not be tonite!

Shooting 29%... 1-11 from behind the arc... getting heavily out rebounded... not gonna work.

we look like a team that has only beaten division 2 and naia teams. Bad.

Man, watching this team really is like coming up on a train wreck. Every game has to have a long cold streak that is almost supernatural. This time it hits coming out of halftime.

UTA is doing well what we are bad at....defense, boxing out, and ball movement, hence, their 5’9” guys scoring on our 6’5” guys and their 6’5” guys scoring on our 6’9” guys. What happened to our rebounding advantages we had last year? I never imagined this team would be this bad.

I honestly don’t think the players are this bad.

I think Fox has lost the team. He has nothing left to inspire them. They have never had success under him. They have no system.

I feel like this could be one of those opportunities where we get a positive, new voice and could double our wins next year.

And I am beginning to believe it will actually happen.

Up at the half only to collapse. Worst loss this year...

I feel the same way. If we can find a way to keep Gregory and the pieces we have coming back- this team next year could start a nice turnaround.

Hate to already give up on this year, but we have not looked good except in good losses to Georgetown and Alabama. If we had just found a way to win 2 of the 4 against Alabama, WIchita, Ball State and EZU, i think we're having a totally different conversation about this year.

I have trouble understanding how an outlet pass to one of our better scorers who immediately pulls up for the three is an offensive strategy. I'll admit to knowing very little about basketball other than what I learned playing the game in junior high and what I learned from some very fine coaches our younger son played for. I keep thinking back to the South Carolina team that made it so far in the NCAA tournament with non-headliner players a few years ago and how much they passed and looked for the open shot and rebounded and passed and passed and passed. I don't see much of what I'd call "team" play out of our guys. Again, I'll underscore that my perception is not that of a basketball aficionado - just that of an old grandma who loves to see App State victories.

Only gave up 54 points in the second half and more importantly Shabazz got his 14 shots in and a cool 1-6 from the 3 point line. It’s important to let him showcase his talents for the next level like Fox seems to have no problem doing

Time to move on. Fox has to go. See what Allison can do the rest of the year.

You’re right. It doesn’t take an aficionado to see our glaring deficiencies, and the problems you speak of are worse now than in fox’s first year.

Anyone who's been around here the last 13 years or so that's paid any attention knows I'm not in the hot headed, knee jerk "fire the coach" camp, but I don't even know what to say. I can't defend this any more. We're not even mediocre, we're terrible. This just can't go on. We do not have to suck this bad at basketball. Damn, when I was at App basketball was arguably bigger than football. Cremmins had this thing rolling. Surely we can find somebody that can turn this thing around.

I have no words. Another collapse. Fox should look in the mirror and easily find the reason for our many woes. Then he should write that letter of resignation.

Different era, but same story for me. I was in school during Buzz’s first stint, and for most of us, basketball was the big deal. Seems unthinkable now.

Tonight was just horrible. No offensive identity. Credit UTA who made shots, but there's no leadership on the court or from the bench.
