Whew. Tried to give it away, but I hope this is the start of something big. Gotta stay positive when the team gives us something positive.
I prefer to say it’s the end of something bad.

Why can’t you just be happy that our guys got a win and be supportive that this is the start of something positive for the team! All this FOX negative talk is really getting old. ! Proud of the team and fighting through and finishing. Think the broke the ice and are going to really battle hear for the rest of the season! PROUD OF THESE GUYS AND THE COACHES TODAY!
Everyone's pleased about this game and it's outcome. Some of the comments you see here

Fair enough.

1-8 is better than 0-9.

Five of the next seven are at home. Need to make those count.

Geeze, nothing against you T-Dog, it's sad this has become the measure of making it "count."

I’m happy they won. I still want Fox to be axed. You may have a different agenda than I do. But unfortunately the kids winning and fox being fired are not mutually exclusive.

Sun Belt Tournament has changed format this year. Only top 10 make it. 7 vs 10 and 8 vs 9 on campus sites. Only top six are guaranteed to go to NOLA. First round winners play the 5 and 6 seeds, those winners play 3 and 4 seeds and those winners play 1 and 2 seeds. Every win could move us up a round.

I knew that the first few games would be on campus with final three rounds in New Orleans (I think this new structure is great), but I'm a bit dense and didn't realize that the bottom two squads won't make the tournament. All the more reason to make these next several games count!

That used to be the way of things in the SoCon. The first round was always held at the home of the higher seeded team. I remember the year they moved the tourney from Roanoke to Charleston WV. Visions of cash danced in the eyes of the SoCon poobahs from all the Marshall fans who would pack that arena in Charleston for the tourney. There was only one problem. Both years the tourney was held there Marshall lost in the opening round and never made Charleston. That arena never held flies for the semis and finals. It moved to Asheville after that fiasco.

I knew someone was going to bring us into the real world of SBC MBB sooner or later. Today is as good as any. As of today's results, our Apps are a real long shot to even make the tourney.

Soooooooooooo, it will take some spectacular play from our guys for the rest of the regular season along with considerable help from some of our #Fun Belt mates to get us unquestionably into the top ten (without a tie and the need for dusting off that completely ridiculous SBC tie-breaker policy).

Here's hoping we can get there. Sadly, we're starting our "run" from dead-last place.

If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

WataugaMan, I think you're combining two separate statements incorrectly. Nobody said 1-9 is making it count. He was talking about the upcoming games. Relax, Man. If you can't get optimistic, that's on you. Hard to blame anyone for that right now but there's no need to be contradictory towards every "hopeful" statement made.

Now that you've explained further, I get where you're coming from. Here's hoping things work out, however, given past performance I just don't see it.

Happy for the players,we were the much more talented team on the floor. I was interested to see that when players went to the sideline during foul shots or change of possession it was Allison they talked with.

I hope you're being facetious. If not you're thinking of Jerry Reed "East Bound and Down" from "Smokey and the Bandit". Jerry also played the character of Snowman.

Not to be confused with Terry Reid, a singer who was offered the lead singer job in both The New Yardbirds (who would eventually go on to become Led Zeppelin and (very early on) Deep Purple. Refusing both because he had prior tours booked as a solo act and didn't want to cancel. Dude literally turned down two of the biggest rock bands ever.

That’s so not true they spoke to ALL the coaches including Coach Fox during this game as they ALWAYS do during a game. I watched the game and saw something TOTALLY different. I love how you are trying to make tension between the team and coaches. Again, you think the kids don’t see this. They really don’t need this crap while they are trying to fight for their season. Y’all just need something better to do than try to create negativity. I used to enjoy this forum but I think it’s about time I leave. I pray there is no adversity in football as the pats as will pounce!
