Never said Gillin was on the hot seat. I'm saying if he let's this basketball boil continue to fester it could be the beginning of the end just like happened with his predecessor. BTW, they said the same thing about Cobb his first three or four years on the job too. I'm talking about the incredible job he was supposed to be doing.diehardapp18 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 7:59 pmWhat, am I reading this the right way? Are you saying Doug Gillin might be on the hot seat or something? Lmao he's done incredible with everything so far. If he keeps Fox it's probably because he can't pay the buyout and wouldn't have enough to hire a coach he's really excited about. Honestly I could live with one more year of mediocrity under Fox if it nets us a great young coach next year instead of having to get an average one this year.Arsenal App wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 3:26 pmThe way I see things, if Gillin does decide to kick the can down the road once again in regards to basketball he's on the clock too. It might be beginning of the end for him in Boone.

Seems like a massive overreaction.Arsenal App wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 8:28 pmNever said Gillin was on the hot seat. And that, my friends, is how you waste 4 years of arguably the most talented player to every play at Appalachian State.

So sad we wasted four years of Shabazz. Good luck to coach Fox where ever he ends up, nice guy.

This game really does provide a microcosm of our season. Start slow, work like crazy to get back in the game, and then fade down the stretch. Of course, we were missing Tyrell and Isaac was limited with a bum ankle.
Now, it's time to wait and see what the future holds for this staff.

Another season in the books. Exactly forty years ago we were in the NCAA Tournament .Ill never forget that season , it was magic. Now we have once again come full circle ,this was the most underperforming team I’ve seen in my years. It’s time to start over but the cupboard isn’t bare. I see talent and potential . We need a coach , a head coach who knows how to fit the pieces together. If we don’t make a change , we have given up.

The next 24-48 hours will show us if we ever intend to make basketball a priority. DG and staff have done an excellent job so far, and I trust he will do the right thing. Jim Fox is a great guy, and did some good things, but the players deserve more, the students deserve more, we the alumni deserve more, the community deserves more. Appalachian deserves more. Do the right thing DG. GO APPS!!

I’m sorry for Ronshad as he’s clearly one of the most talented players to have ever played for this program.
Now that he season is over, it’s time to formally move on and start fresh. I trust DG will make the correct decision.
As always, Go App!

Waiting another year would only save $50K on the buyout. And losing 20 games a year is worse than mediocre.diehardapp18 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 7:59 pmWhat, am I reading this the right way? This team needs some ankle weights and a hour a day of the side to side drill. I have never seen a team get beat off the dribble, so consistently, as this team all year. Matador D.
