IF it’s true that Lutz hasn’t interviewed, and IF an announcement will be made by tomorrow, then I highly doubt it will be Lutz.

I have no inside info whatsoever about DG's actual shortlist or his ultimate choice, but I admit to being up to speed about "how things work" with the BOT. Don't look for a formal announcement until after that 3 PM Athletics Committee meeting on Thursday. A name may get leaked someway, somehow before then, but until the BOT takes action, nothing's final. The board will be asked to approve both the candidate being recommended and the terms of the contract. When things get this far along, it almost always goes smoothly--but it's not guaranteed to go well. Still, it's a pretty good bet.

I do know this, our new head coach of MBB will not be Josh Gattis!

Lutz said he could not speak to the level of interest from App State.

He said he would be open to having conversation with App State about the job. He didn't say he had not spoke App, or that he had spoke to App. If they had agreed verbally and was ironing out contract details as of Monday, obviously he would be very open to speak to App State.

He said he would be honored if he is being considered. This may mean he has heard nothing, it may mean he had an interview and is waiting to hear back.

It could be that Mike Jones turned down App State on Monday and then after this interview on WFNZ, Lutz was offered the job but at the time....he knew he had been interviewed but had not heard anything else back because App was focused on Jones but Jones eventually turned them down.

If you take Lutz interview as he has not spoke to App state, you believe App Mania reports of a hire coming by the LATEST tomorrow...and you believe Goodman's list, and that Mike Jones turned App down, then App will be hiring Campbell or Gardner Webb coach tonight or tomorrow.

AppState Mania says MBB decision to be finalized no later than Wednesday, if not before. Board of Trustees just happens to be meeting on campus in regular session on Thursday afternoon. Bingo! It is legal for the Board to have a meeting by conference call with proper advance notice (as was the case in the football vacancy) but that seems unnecessary to fill this vacancy in timely manner.

Has a BOT meeting been "noticed"? I believe it requires 48 hours unless it is a regularly scheduled meeting.

They have a meeting in the books for 3/28-29 already. That is why the Wed thing is coming up.

That being said, I would rather have to call a meeting and get it right than try to get it in on their regular meeting.
