I could not disagree more. Clearly Bobby Lutz is the right choice to lead this program.

Lutz is probably the best coach of the 4. Anyone would probably agree with that. But I just think it would be Buzz all over again. Lutz has never actually desired the Appalachian job, right now he’s just a man in need of a job. He’d leave in a second for a cushy job as the top assistant on an ACC or SEC bench

100% know that to be incorrect - he doesn’t do anything halfway
We would be lucky to have him, especially given our previous decisions

You couldn’t disagree more than all 4 are solid choices? What’s so clear about Bobby Lutz? Please let me know the all-knowing Hoopster.

You think he’d leave to be an assistant? I don’t know, that seems like a stretch.

I’d actually think Lutz might be the rare coach who’d stick around for a decade or so, just because bigger schools aren’t likely to come calling at this stage in his career.

I don't want Lutz. This feels like people who know him and have ties to App are pushing him in that direction.

I've seen the three Big South coaches coach while working at HPU. I have spoken to all three in person. All three are very personable, have well coached teams and have recruited well for their current schools. Just my 2 cents.

Yosef10 as Diehardapp18 said Lutz is probably the best coach of the four. While the other 3 appear solid hiring Lutz seems like the clear best choice. It is my undestanding Lutz was very interested last time but prior AD did not get it handled. Hopefully that will not happen again.

T-Dog trust me it was not handled right by prior AD. Watch the Ga State hire not go well. Which will be good for App!

Yeah they'll hire Lutz before Gillin does and we'll hire someone better.

I don't want Lutz and you can't convince me otherwise, no matter how great a guy others say he is.

I don’t think he’s a superstar or anything and I won’t try to change your mind. But I will say I’ve warmed to him as I’ve thought about where we are and also seen the other candidates in play.

I’d say he’s roughly a rich man’s Fancher.

Avery Johnson available. Fired at Bama.

I think we are beyond identifying candidates at this point.

I see Lutz as someone who would walk away rather than stick out the potential rough times. He said himself he'll coach again on 100 percent his own terms and said he doesn't have to coach again. Yes he was successful at UNCC, but that was almost a decade ago.

Plus it is also something Cobb literally tried to do and I don't want that taste in my mouth.

T-Dog you shouldn’t hold Cobb’s failure against Lutz. Not trying to convince you of anything. Just stating Lutz is the best hire for our program.

Just as an unfortunate reminder if Lutz is any resemblance of Fancher. Fancher NEVER EVEN MADE THE FINALS OF THE TOURNAMENT DURING HIS TENURE. NEVER GOT TO THE FINALS. Never had a shot at NCAA because we didn’t even get to the finals in a one bid league.
