Re: Assistant Hoops Coaches
He is bringing his assistants from Presbyterian. It remains to be seen if they will be on the bench with him.

Re: Assistant Hoops Coaches
I read the bios of his Presbyterian assistants, they have connections in Georgia and Florida as well as AAU that should be of help in recruiting. Plus they are young.
I do hope there is a way to retain Allison if he wants to stay.

Keeping Allison is an absolute must if we want to keep attrition to a minimum! And there's a way to take the three Presby guys and still have a bench seat for Allison.

Re: Assistant Hoops Coaches
Not questioning their ability but they have very little experience. That's why for me it would be important to include Allison on the staff.

Even if they are not hired in assistant roles, but support staff...they still will be on the bench.

Re: Assistant Hoops Coaches
FWIW, Allison is now listed as the only assistant coach on the appstatesports basketball page. All others have been removed. I'm not sure if it's a sign that he's staying, but it's interesting.

Re: Assistant Hoops Coaches
It should be. He was listed as ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH on March 28 and his updated title is ASSISTANT COACH.app97 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2019 1:35 pmFWIW, Allison is now listed as the only assistant coach on the appstatesports basketball page. They would not have changed it if he wasn't.
That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

Here it lists Associate: https://appstatesports.com/coaches.aspx?path=mbball
Same with here: https://appstatesports.com/staff.aspx
Also here: https://search.appstate.edu/search.php? ... n&type=all
However, the other day it did on the second link say Assistant.

Re: Assistant Hoops Coaches
from hoopdirt today...
It sounds like new Appalachian State head coach Dustin Kerns will retain current Mountaineers associate head coach Jason Allison. The former VMI assistant has been on the App State bench for the past five seasons.

I don't know Allison but really glad to hear he is returning. We needed a shakeup but I believe he does a great job in recruiting and will one day be someone we just pray does not jump to a bigger program.

He has a place if he wants it. My assumption is that he does. I do not know that however. In any event ,half of the equation is established.

Re: Assistant Hoops Coaches
Assistant staff is finalized.
Alison staying on as special assistant to the HC. Don’t know that means for his involvement with the team and recruiting, but at least he is sticking around for a while.

No inside info here ... just wonder if this is a title someone might take as he remains on staff while looking for other opportunitiesThe Rock wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 12:22 pmAssistant staff is finalized.
