Basketball DK Edition
Wanted to start a thread where we could follow all of the updates regarding Men’s Basketball.
We have a coach and there has been some discussion on assistants, but:
Any reaction from the team?
Are our recruits still committed?
Any incoming/outgoing transfers?
Any new recruits?
When we DK start working on the schedule?
Uniform changes?
Offensive & defensive strategies?
I’m really excited about the coaching change & think we are really close to having a successful program. Hoping the team is ready to get to work!

Any reaction from the team? None that has made news
Are our recruits still committed? Per Allison, Yes
Any incoming/outgoing transfers? Outgoing Not at this time, In depends on space/need
Any new recruits? We are in the Quiet/Dead Period until around the 19th
When we DK start working on the schedule? After staff is in place/Final Four
Uniform changes? Have to schedule meeting with Nike Rep
Offensive & defensive strategies? Wait until he has a chance to have a workout with the team first

That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

Re: Basketball DK Edition
not sure about specific strategies, but if his work at Presbyterian is any indication, we will shoot a lot of 3's, share the ball and take care of the ball (assist-turnover ratio should improve), much like Wofford.
I'm looking forward to seeing Kern's offense come to fruition on the court, although I would imagine it might take a couple of recruiting classes to get his players and system into place.

That's the very last of DK's concerns for his first season.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

Re: Basketball DK Edition
Just my opinion, but I'd love to see our basketball teams wear gold at home instead of white. Not necessarily the script gold unis from the last two years, but a gold version of the current white unis would be awesome.

I’d have a black home and away uni. No reason we can’t have Black Saturday in Holmes.

Re: Basketball DK Edition
Just noticed a few things about the coaching change as of 8 PM on 4.1.2019...
1.) Jason Allison is now listed as "Associate Head Coach" again.
2.) PC has removed the entire MBB staff from GoBlueHose.com;
3.) No, this isn't an April Fool's prank
DK is a man on a mission!

I hope he changes our strategy to scoring more points than the other team more often than we have been.

Based on my admittedly limited basketball knowledge, I have found that to be the single most effective strategy!NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 7:25 amI hope he changes our strategy to scoring more points than the other team more often than we have been.

Re: Basketball DK Edition
It's a fail-proof strategy! The best way to carry out this strategy is to not let the other team get the ball in the basket as many time as your team does.Yosef84 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 8:04 amBased on my admittedly limited basketball knowledge, I have found that to be the single most effective strategy!NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 7:25 amI hope he changes our strategy to scoring more points than the other team more often than we have been.

Re: Basketball DK Edition
Sure, why not. It’s not going to cost the team two games for the coaches to have player’s names put on the backs of the uniform.
