Huge game for the Apps tomorrow versus Davidson. The guys really need to come out on all cylinders and play a full 40 minute game to have a legitimate chance at beating the Wildcats. We must continue to defend as well as we have the past few games. Also we have to make our free throws at a better rate and get to the foul line more often.

Davidson is very similar to Elon but they are more talented. We need to use our athleticism to pester their system of play. One big thing hanging in the balance is the health of Mike Neal and Jay Canty. Both are nursing injuries Neal (foot) and Canty (thumb). It has been rumored that both will be game-time decisions. Appalachian needs one, if not both of them to play for them to have a realistic chance at winning.

I will be heading down to the Holmes Center at 115 to sit in the front row of the student section. Roads in Boone are fine and clear. Make your way out to the Holmes Center for a crucial basketball game tomorrow at 2. Go Apps!!

5:30 in and it's already ugly.

Without Mike Neal, this team barely beat Carson-Newman in an exhibition. Add an injured Canty to that and, well, this is about what I expected...

But that doesn't make us good. It just makes us a better bad team. I know I seem negative but we really do need to make our basketball program relevant

I realize we're not good and I'm not satisfied, I'm just saying that as bad as this is, we are somehow STILL in this thing...4-4 in the North (counting this as a loss.)

It should have been a flagrant 2 and an ejection. He took that guy down by his head. If someone did that to an App player we would raise you know what. SoCon refs couldn't pull the trigger.

His right hand was in the air, his left hand grabbed his left shoulder on the way down. If it was called a 2 it would have been overturned by the conf office.

There is no reason why a 17,000+ and growing state university with all we have to offer and as many people want to come here (based on the half a million tweets I've read in the past few weeks looking for recruiting info) can't put a better team on the floor. We compete and win in nearly every other sport we play in except MBB. Everybody has off years. Not many have an off half millennium (with a few good years thrown in).
