So how's that football going CLT?
Shot at a bowl game with two games to go in only our 7th year of existence, I’d say it’s coming along nicely.
Combined records of the 5 big wins is 12 and 40. Mighty impressive. Two of the Charlotte victims have 1 win, two have 3 and one has 4. Well deserved bowl with another victory.
To carry it even further, Charlotte may become Bowl Eligible by a schedule of unequivocal ineptitude:

Here are how those 12 wins came to be:

Gardner-Webb is 3-8 with victories over Western Carolina, Hampton and NC Central (all FCS, no winning records)
UMASS is 1-10 with a victory over Akron, the only WINLESS team in FBS 0-10
North Texas is 4-6 with victories over FCS Abilene Christian 5-6, UTSA 4-6, MTSU 3-7 and UTEP 1-9
MTSU is 3-7 with victories over FCS last in the OVC Tennessee State 2-9 and who gave 7-3 Marshall and 7-3 FIU their only Conference USA losses. Hence, MTSU is THEIR SIGNATURE WIN
UTEP is 1-9 with it's lone victory against Houston Baptist (which is 9th is the FCS Southland Conference)

assuming they lose to Marshall, they will have a chance to become bowl eligible by defeating Old Dominion 1-9 who's only win in over FCS Norfolk State (5-6) by 3 points.

ODU will convert the combined record to 13 and 49 (.265) with 7 of those wins being FCS.

They will possibly gain Bowl Eligibility by beating 6 teams with a combined SIX FBS VICTORIES . Louisiana has 7 FBS victories on their own.

We will beat them in basketball long before they beat us in football. To their credit though , Cornbread was one heckuva plater.

Let’s not overdo their basketball program because they had a good player 40 years ago.

We should beat them in 2 days coming off maybe the worst 5 year stretch in our basketball history.

I’m rolling up to Boone. Looking forward to it. We gave y’all more of a game than expected in football so maybe y’all can give us a game here. After beating more talented teams in Davidson and Wake we are feeling good but we have a young team and going on the road into a fairly stale environment so we shall see. Still trying to decide where to pregame. Wife grew up in Boone and made some suggestions, but would welcome any suggestions from y’all.

Saw it’s a whiteout for y’all. Does that mean shirts or is that referring to your 84% white student body? Why are y’all scared of diversity?

1. Charlotte talking to us about football....come on....like. just dont man, y'all do yalls thing....but my lord.

2. I know absolutely nothing about Charlotte basketball....except that yall are waaaaay better than us. We suck....dont listen to any of our fans that tell you otherwise. It's not the same gap that exists in football...but its massive. I promise.

3. What a weird thing to say "you have too many white people." I would imagine all cold climate mountain schools are similar. But it's wrong to judge people by race and if in fact App is exactly 84% white.....you are a f*cking loser for knowing that stat.

Klondike or Parthenon are two great spots right next to the arena for a couple brews prior. There’s no way you miss you them.

So you come on our board to ask for information, while insulting our environment, spinning a 15 point loss in football, and calling our university "scared of diversity"? You are definitely solidifying yourselves as the most delusional fan base in the country. BTW, your team, which still hasn't beaten a team with a winning record, was fortunate to catch us when we were implementing a new defensive scheme (see Coastal). Today, you wouldn't cross our goal line, just like last year. Enjoy the basketball game, but remember that you are just another commuter school who has not beaten us in football.

Unc Charlotte is 16% black while the city of Charlotte is 35% black. I'd say unc Charlotte is about as diverse as their football team is good.

So if the US is 12.6% African/American, and Charlotte's A/A enrollment is 16%, that reflects a very diverse student population, wouldn't you agree? App's 600 A/A undergraduate students represent less than 3.4% of your undergraduate students, and I suspect if you remove scholarship athletes the remainder would just be astounding. You can't be proud of this record, right?

Anyway, back to basketball. We are just looking for wins this year. Quality of the wins does not matter. We are looking forward to our trip up the hill.

Good luck finishing out your football season. You are having a magic year.

are we really going with "we have more black dudes than you" as smack talk for the basketball game? Classy Charlotte. thread probably should be shut down. terrible. Where's Southern and their goat fetish, hard to believe that'd bring a conversation up a notch.

This is a weird thread. I guess unc Charlotte hasn’t been relevant in sports long enough to know how to exchange banter in a message board.
