ESPN has the Bucs as SoCon favorites, and a projected 12 seed in the NCAA. Clearly a quality opponent , on the road .If we play with the effort we showed Thursday night and improve our shooting a bit ,we can take this one.

There needs to be an organized bus trip to get a student section there.

ESPN's Power Index gives ETSU an 85.2% chance to win.

If I were doing a “why I love/hate this board” T-chart, this would be under the “why I love” column.

Wish I could. The Bucs team our guys will be facing in Freedom Hall will be very much like their teams of the 60s, 70s thru the mid '80s. We'll see a couple of seven-foot giants; a busload of 6-6-to 6-9 muscle-bound JuCos; 6-4 Sr. Guard Tray Boyd III; and Johnson City native/App transfer Patrick Good (6-0, 180 R-Jr guard) who can and will shoot it from about 35 feet-on-in when he's hot. (Seems like Good's been in a Bucs uni for ten-years, but it's really only three plus! The last time he wore our Black & Gold, he'd just turned 19. He'll be 22 early next year.)

This is likely to be a very physical game with a lot of flyin' elbows. pushing and shoving. It'll be interesting to see if our guys can hang with ETSU's trees in the paint, defend Boyd's rim attacks, Good's rainbows and hit their FT opportunities. If not, this one could get ugly.

C'mon Apps. A road win in this one would send a message to the cbb world.

I don’t mean to shoot you down or anything, but ESPN’s power index and FPI are garbage. They had App less than 25% to UNC and USC, and at about 85% against GA Southern. Their power rankings also had the Atlanta Braves as the 3rd best team in the NL East until about a month left in the season, even though they were in first place and won the division. I’d look at whatever Vegas says as a better predictor.

Totally agree, just thought it was way too lopsided to go unnoticed.

I'm considering it since it's only an hour or so from Asheville. My 9 year old wants to go.

Tickets are still available on the ETSU website. Only single seats remain for the gold and silver sections as of a few minutes ago. Everything else is in the upper level.

Freedom Hall isn't huge (seating around 6,100 or so for basketball) so there isn't really a bad seat in the house. They've really done a lot of renovations and it's a nice basketball facility.

If my fiancee decides to join, I'll nab a couple of tickets in the upper level (they are only $15). If I end up flying solo, I'll grab a single down low.

And another positive in our favor, our game will be the third in four days for the Bucs. Hopefully they might be winded, and that will play to our advantage.
