Re: 2/8 MBB vs TXST
As did I. I really thought Fox would be able to translate at least *some of that Davidson mentality to Boone. I knew we weren't going to be *that kind of program across the board but I at least thought that, after so many years with McKillop, he would be able to find some true lights-out sharpshooters and a few really hard-working kids with super high basketball IQ's that would provide relief and energy off the bench. Combine that with the level of player we've traditionally been able to land and I truly thought Fox had potential for a hybrid Davidson type situation in Boone. Obviously, it didn't work out. DK on the other hand, has me stoked...

The challenge will be next year as we lose 3 starters. We saw how we struggled without Johnson and Williams during that stretch of losses.

Re: 2/8 MBB vs TXST
Kerns lit a fire on the sideline after we failed to get back on defense after the huge Lewis dunk.
It was a big mistake and Kerns let the guys know it. Really like this coach.
Another big weekend upcoming versus GA teams. Need to go 1-1 to be in the driver seat for a tourney bye.

I remember that timeout too! Kerns was changing colors, he was getting a message across that's for sure. The interesting part to me was the play by play guy literally had just commented on how our guys on D weren't playing with their hands up to disrupt the passing lanes. As soon as they came out of the timeout all ten hands were up and very active. It's really clear the guys have bought into Kerns and respond to him in a positive way.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 9:16 amKerns lit a fire on the sideline after we failed to get back on defense after the huge Lewis dunk.

Re: 2/8 MBB vs TXST
Is the format the same as last year where
5-6 seeds get single bye
4-5 seed double bye and
1-2 seed triple byes?

Re: 2/8 MBB vs TXST
Dustin deserves a lot of credit and one thing often overlooked is his staff. This is “ a team”. They have input and are respected. The immediate past era was the opposite. That locker room was toxic. Doug made a great hire. That said we do lose three starters next season and will be very young outside of JF.

Yes, only differences is that everything before the semifinals are on campus sites, and the Sun Belt Final Four is now in the Pelicans Arena in downtown NOLA.

Re: 2/8 MBB vs TXST
I'm among those who really believed that Fox would get it done on the court as well. Cleaning up the APR and discipline issues was no small accomplishment, but his inability to "coach up" the players was a disappointment. Also, his connection to the AAU in New York (his father) never yielded the types of recruits I was hoping to see. I do appreciate what he did, but I'm VERY impressed with DK so far!appstate77 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 7:12 pmMethinks that was his primary mission at App.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 9:02 amFox got us out of the academic mess the Capel hire got us into.
