Get the brooms out! It's a sweep! There are a lot of things you can say about this squad; the can't make free throws, can be offensively challenged, no depth at any position. But above all else if the other team doesn't put them away early and often they will make a game of it. Just so impressed with these guys, the effort is relentless. Man it feels good right now!

Re: At our hated rivals....
Delph had 21 points and zero turnvoers. And only 11 turnovers as a team.
Amazing win. The last four are USA, Troy, Coastal and at ULM. All winnable. 13-7 is possible and a top four finish is also possible.
Little Rock got swept this weekend so we're only three games out of first place.

That last tidbit there is really astonishing! Never in a million years did I think this team would be in this position before the season started.T-Dog wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 5:56 pmDelph had 21 points and zero turnvoers. And only 11 turnovers as a team.

Re: At our hated rivals....
Great, great road win! App owns this tourney tie-breaker, if needed. File that away, stink fans! That ugly five-game App winless skid is over. Needle and thread...Apps finally got you outta 'dere heads...
This was the 53rd all-time meeting between the two schools in MBB, with App State now holding a 29-24 lead in the series.
On a more sober note, we scored 62 points and grabbed 22 boards in this contest; with 33 of those points and 20 of those boards chalked up to seniors who will graduate in 90 days. Recruiting could not be more important for keeping the DK machine on the upward flight path! Our short bench...which will soon be even shorter... must have a talent surge before next season rolls around.

If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

Re: At our hated rivals....
Completely agree about the recruiting. On a plus side; Lewis is going to be a stud we have seen flashes all season, also Gregory is starting to have flashes. Having two young and upcoming two way wings is huge, hopefully one of the two can become a consistent threat from the perimeter. Williams and Ike are going to be really hard to replace but after what I have seen this year I have all the faith in Kerns and his staff to make it work.asu66 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 6:38 pmGreat, great road win! Re: At our hated rivals....
I really thought LR was the class of the league and had the regular season all but wrapped up. Their final game of the season is at Ga State. Could be for the regular season crown.
Great bounce back for our guys today. Truthfully, our fate is in our own hands as T-Dog said, we have four winnable games with three of them at home.

Re: At our hated rivals....
The Texas road trip is tough, as Little Rock just found out.
The GSU's go to Texas next weekend, so we could move up in the standings if we take care of business.
2nd place is a longshot IMO, but 3rd/4th is very possible and I'd say likely if we win out.

Second would be great, but getting a bye would be a big feather in our caps.

Re: At our hated rivals....
It's actually a ladder bracket. Top 2 get a triple bye to the semis, 3rd and 4th get a double bye to the quarterfinals, 5th and 6th get a single bye to the second round, 7th-10th play in the first round.
Only the semis and finals are in NOLA, first three rounds are at campus sites. So if App finishes 3rd-8th, there will be one more home game.
I imagine the bracket changes next year when the tourney likely goes to Pensacola.

Impressive win without Forrest. Guys didn’t quit down 12 early, they always believe.

So excited for this team, they are grinders.
Hoping for a deep tournament run. Can’t imagine how exciting it’d be to go to the NCAA tournament if we managed to win.

Re: At our hated rivals....
Very nice game boys.... way to play DEFENSE!!!! Have always thought that A. Delf could be a much more consistent scorer. Its hard to do that if you are not playing more but I guess with Forest out, they had to play him. Anyway great way to close it out on the road. It probably didn't hurt that GASO'S last 4-5 shots were missed threes. AHHH, to bad for them huh?

Re: At our hated rivals....
this was a great win! 15-12...9-7 ...couldn't be prouder..we could lose out and it would still be a huge improvement...but i really think at minimum we will split these last 4....possibly win all 4..who knows?....but realistically at LEAST 17 reg season wins will happen IMO..and some type of post season tourny after the conf tourny......IF we dont win the conf tourny....i can easily see a CBI or CIT which honestly would not be a bad thing at all

Need depth, especially in the post.
I would imagine the three remaining spots go to a PG and two bigs.
