Yes, this isn't the first time App Basketball has laid an egg before a big crowd with an opportunity to gain fan interest. I'm not talking specifically of this year, but years past too.ah59396 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 11:03 pmSeems like every time they get a decent crowd, they lay an egg. Unfortunate timing.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 10:45 pmFirst basketball game I’ve been to since I moved away in 2007. Holmes had no life until the last 5 minutes. The band did their job but the “mountaineer menace” wasn’t very menacing and the rest of the crowd sat on their hands.
Players play the game. Fans create the atmosphere. We all need to do better.
This school is thirsty for a winner on the hardwood. We are definitely closer than we were a year ago.

The guys turned it on too late. CCU had one of its best shooting nights of the season. Beat ULM, win one or two games in the tourney, go to the CIT. that will certainly beat me expectations for the season.
K. Lewis will only get better, he and Lewis Jr need to focus of improving their offensive production this offseason. Pair them with Forrest, Delph, and get a Juco post player we can build upon this season.
I’m still a big fan of Gregory as well, should get more minutes next season.

If we beat ULM to get bye then we probably end up in same spot we would otherwise. Just hope we get a chance to host another game at Holmes.

A loss tonight puts us at 10-10 in conference play. Two years ago we were 9-9 in Belt play. Currently we have one more win overall than that team did.

Given that the bottom fell out last season I certainly hope not .

You only have to watch about 5 minutes of these guys to see how improved they are, and how DRASTICALLY improved the coaching is.
FINISH STRONG!! GO APPS!!

I'm not suggesting we haven't. Clearly this team plays with a different effort. There's no comparison on the defensive side of the ball. I've stated previously that I can watch this team without having to turn off ESPN+ in frustration. I'm just not ready to say we have arrived yet. One year is a small sample size. I'm anxious to see what we do next year with a very different cast of players. I like DK's track record so I'm hopeful but jaded over our bball performances from the past.

We absolutely have not "arrived" yet. I don't think that's what anyone is saying. I'll speak for myself though. I'm just happy that we appear to finally be on the road!hapapp wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2020 6:06 amI'm not suggesting we haven't. Clearly this team plays with a different effort. We are relevant in March that’s all the perspective needed.
