Re: Excited for 2020
I don't want to jinx it, but 6-8 from the free throw line is a welcome sight!

Re: Excited for 2020
I was thinking the same thing. These live stats are hard to follow. But Michael Eads had our first points at the 18:45 mark(or 1:15 into the game) and he wasn't listed as a starter. So if that was our starting 5 they didn't get a long run together.HurricaneYosef wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 3:12 pmVery small starting 5, wonder if this was just a match up decision

Re: Excited for 2020
So the "first" time the game ended on the live stream we won by 15. The "second" time it ended we won by 20. Noticed something similar in-between the halves too. Honestly have no idea what the real score of the game is now, but I think we won!

Big lead , coasted in. I really see this one and the next couple as scrimmages , although SCSU is D1. I do like the free throw improvement.Hard to ascertain much else.

Re: Excited for 2020
Nice start for the App State women and men! Different and nice! Both teams 1-0 so far this week!
Terrific home start for women's senior F Lainey Gosnell...hitting 4 of 5 from the floor, 2 of 2 from the arc, 2 of 2 from the FT line, 10 rebounds, 1 steal and 0 turnovers in 23 minutes of play against UNC-Who???

Ditto start for the men! Blowout road win to start the season! Watch out for soph transfer post RJ Duhart and true frosh post CJ Huntley. Both are going to be around for a long time; and could make a nice pair of bookends at 6-9 and 6-11 respectively.

Re: Excited for 2020
I agree. A balanced attack has been missing in recent years with Forrest and previously shabazz taking most of the shots. Kerns’ first season was an improvement with Williams stepping up. If game 1 is any indication, we might not have a first team all conference player, but that that might translate into more wins and a more pleasant team to watch. I’m even more impressed with how rebounding was spread out amongst the team.

Re: Excited for 2020
Remember a few years back when we beat a small school by 100 points.....and got a Sportscenter mention? We may get this kind of game tonight. Carver is a small Christian college out of Atlanta whose peers are Toccoa Bible College, and Montreat College. Go App!

Al Gore's amazing internet says Carver's enrollment is 37 undergrads and 100% acceptance rate?!!

Re: Excited for 2020
This game is over already! Bowling Green on Monday will be a tough opponent. I watched some of their game with Michigan the other day and they hung around for a while. Ultimately Michigan's size in the paint was the difference maker. Lewis, Huntley, and our ability to get to the rim will be key. Funny enough they host SC St. tomorrow. Justin Turner for them is the real deal for them as well and they are coming off a 21 win season so this will be great indicator as to where this team is

Re: Excited for 2020
Regardless of the level of the competition tonight, I love what I’m seeing regarding hustle, ball movement, defense, and just overall body language. I think this team can be really good, and it appears that Kerns and staff have everyone settled in to their system.

Re: Excited for 2020
Agree. I watched it all. We’ve got some good young guys. I felt bad for Carver... but we played all freshman most of the 2nd half and still dominated them. Bowling green plays SC State tomorrow. I’m curious how that one goes.
