UNCC game 12/11 5pm on ESPNU

Betting lines have been moving in Apps favor. UNCC was favored by 6 last night when I checked and this morning the line is now UNCC -4.

UNCC lost to ECU, who is actually pretty good for their standards this year, and Georgia State who is a top 3 team in the Sun Belt in my opinion. We will need to REBOUND the basketball...they have 4 guards averaging 4.5+ RPG while we Almonacy is currently our leading rebounder on the team. Jahmir Young seems to be their do it all go to player, if we can slow him down and control the glass I like our chances a lot.

We were only out rebounded by 1, so not too bad. I wouldn’t say we slowed down Young too much, but he sure did not have a lot of help. Their box score almost looks like one of ours during the Fox era.

Defense travels. That was outstanding! That kind of D and getting to the FT line will take us a long way. Love seeing the growth of Delph and Gregory and the consistent play of Kendall Lewis. Great to see Dustin so fired up as they headed to the locker room too. He’s got it going!

Big time free throws at the end there. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen from Kearns in a short time. This team believes in his system.

Not to be a dick, just a stickler for getting our coaches names right, but it’s Kerns.

If this team can start hitting shots they can be dangerous. They have the ability to play elite defense, just need the points to go along with it.

After watching the first five minutes I had no doubt we were going to win. We are just a better team , and a better program now. Frankly , I feel much better about basketball than football as things stand.

Delph played really well all night, but the difference was Gregory. We had the lead until he got in foul trouble and then they went on their 1st half run. He played most of the second half and moat of those wide open 3's were contested. He just hustles all over the court.

I think he will be around for a few years at least. He still hasn't made a real tourney run yet or won the conference. We were 18-15 last year, so nothing to jump at from other AD's.

My family moved to Charlotte in 1976, right when UNCC basketball caught fire with Lew Massey and Cedric "Cornbread" Maxwell, led by Coach Lee Rose. My dad went to Davidson, and we were huge basketball fans. Lefty had taken Davidson to the Elite 8, and the entire state was basketball crazy.

Charlotte loved the 49ers, so last night was a fun win. I remember when they were nationally relevant. Let's go Mountaineers, keep climbing!
