MBB vs Auburn

I know everyone is still getting over the football hangover, but APP seems to be hanging with Auburn. 34-31 bad guys at the half.

Much better showing then UT so far. 3 Pt shooting still tough so far at 25%, but most the shot selection has been good. Just not landing. Auburn 8/19 so that's been the difference maker so far.

Very much in this!

Much better first half than Tennessee. I wonder whats up with the revolving door starting line up, I don't think we've had the same starting line up for consecutive games this year!

The fact that we are getting to the foul line and converting is probably what is keeping us in the game. Definitely much better showing than UT.

Scoreless this half so far is not great. Also, our team is wayyyyy too short.

The wide open dunk off the rim into space will most likely find its way to the Not Top 10. So at least we’ve got that.

Ugh.

That Forrest drive and underhanded layup was a thing of beauty.

I am definitely proud of our defense, but our defense can only keep us in a game but so much. When our offense goes long stretches without capitalizing on scoring opportunities, we are in trouble.

Why does Duhart have the green light on 3s? I don’t think he’s hit one this year

We need a big man or two that can contribute on offense. At this point we have zero inside threat at all.

Wheels came off here at the end but it was a better effort than at UT. Not sure Auburn is quite that good though.

Made a great run right there to get it to within 3. Might've just gassed ourselves to get it close then it slipped away. Gotta be proud of this team's effort.

Not sure either but they thrashed Troy, our first conference opponent.

Pros from today:
Turnovers, only 7 TO's against an SEC team. Very good

Free throw shooting: 80% today and got to the line 11 more times than Auburn did

Michael Almonacy, 15 points today. The way the Sun Belt is played, you need to significant contributions from JuCo and Grad transfers. O'Showen last year was one of our three best players (Forrest, Issac the other two) and Almonacy seems to be have taken over everything Williams did for us (consistent perimeter shooting, good ball handling, and solid defense)

Cons, which have been consistent throughout non conference play
Rebounding: outrebounded 38-21 today, Our leading rebounder on the season is 6'0 Almonacy. Somebody is going to need to step up in conference play, Isaac and Seacat were tanks in the post last year. right now we only have Priuses....

Perimeter shooting, 26% tonight...30.8% on the season. Needs to improve in conference play because we have no interior scoring right now

Free Justin Forrest. He was pre season 1st team all conference for a reason. Now he's not starting and isn't even playing 18 mpg. I don't care what he did get him out of the dog house please

Coach puts the best team on the floor and it will change some throughout the year. If a guy is getting minutes he deserves it , if not ,he doesn’t.

There's something to be said about consistency and flow. Not sure we've had the same starting lineup yet.
